14-year-old kills herself after seeing images glorifying self-harm online, father blames Instagram
Molly's father Ian Russell is blaming Instagram for allowing pictures which glorify self-harm and suicide making young people extremely vulnerable
The father of a 14-year-old school girl who committed suicide has accused Instagram of helping and assisting to kill her. The young teenager Molly Russell took her own life when she started looking at pictures which glorified self-harm and suicide.
The father Ian Russell shared that Molly was found dead only hours after she handed in her homework and returned to the family home. At home, she even packed a bag to go to school the next day but committed suicide.
She left a heartbreaking note for her parents and two sisters that read, "I'm sorry. I did this because of me." Ian, however, shared, "I have no doubt that Instagram helped kill my daughter. She had so much to offer and that's gone."
