SPOILERS FOR 'FAST X'

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: The tenth installment of the Fast and Furious franchise has been a long time coming. But all the extravagant thrill and adventure in ‘Fast X’ were reminiscent of a bygone era. The gut-wrenching action sequences, the hand-to-hand combats, cities under threat, and a touch of humor have all been explored in the previous ‘Fast and Furious’ films. ‘Fast X’ was a chance to wrap things up on a high but Dominic Toretto (immortalized by Vin Diesel), decided that there is one more fight left in him.

And so ‘Fast X’ ended on a cliffhanger where Dom and his son Brian may or may not have been killed by Dante Reyes, the son of Herman Reyes. In the film, Reyes is after Dom and company to avenge the death of his father. It’s a star-studded cast with three Academy Award winners — Helen Mirren, Charlize Theron, and Brie Larson. But they make their presence felt only briefly as Dom only talks about "La Familia". But ‘Fast X’ makes fans ask questions like: Are Dom’s best days behind him? Has he lost his touch to make things happen? Given the history of blockbuster films the world over, the villain is eventually taken down but Dom’s slip in recognizing that Aimes, who runs Mr. Nobody’s agency, is true in his loyalty towards Dante and witnessing the plane filled with his friends go down, shows that the end is nearer than expected. For now, Dom needs more help and he can’t rely on his antics to save his family.

Has Dom been cornered?

Dom is given a morality test by Dante in Rio De Janeiro. While racing, Dom can only save one of the two racers. Knowing the old Dom, he would have found a way to save both the racers but in case he fails and is only able to save Elena’s sister, Isabel. Dom even lets Dante get ahold of God’s eye which Tess, Mr. Nobody’s daughter tries hard to protect. Dante then uses God’s eye technology to find Brian, Dom’s son, and in the process kills Jakob, Dom’s brother.

Towards the end, Dante finally corners Dom and Brian near a dam to blow it up. Also, Roman, Han, Tej, and Ramsey’s plane has been taken off the chess board by Dante, so no help is on its way. Even Letty has only managed to break out of the prison halfway across the world. For now, Dom is alone and he looks nervous. Dante has won this battle. But will he win the war against Dom? ‘Fast X: Part II’ will provide all the answers. The second part has been confirmed by the film’s stars and will be in production soon.

What to expect in 'Fast X: Part II'?

Given the history of ‘Fast and Furious’ films, it’s expected that Dom will find a way to end Dante’s reign of terror and save his family. Dante is not the most prolific villain of the franchise but he has caused the most damage to Dom and his peers. There will be more additions to the franchise and given Gisele is back from the dead. So it will be an interesting reunion between Han and her. There’s no date scheduled for the release of ‘Fast X: Part II’ but expect more fireworks in the ‘Fast and Furious’ future.
