PITTSBURGH, PENNSYLVANIA: Football fans weren't thrilled when NFL Network switched to commercial just moments after the Pittsburgh Steelers' on-field ceremony at Acrisure Stadium honoring Hall of Fame running back Franco Harris, who died December 21 at age 72. One of them wrote, "Pretty sh*tty of NFL Network to cut away in the middle of the ceremony."

Many fans flooded Twitter with angry tweets about the network’s decision. One wrote, "I think @nflnetwork should issue an apology to everyone watching the Steelers game. To go to commercial and not show the video montage of Franco Harris’ jersey retirement is insanely disrespectful. The NFL Network showed only a portion of the ceremony, which included members of the 1972 team. Owner Art Rooney II directed the fans in attendance to look at the video board, which was to show a video honoring Harris' Hall of Fame career with the Steelers. But just as the video began to play, the NFL Network switched to commercials. By the time the network returned to the game, the video had ended, and fans across the country were angry.

One of many continued to say, "How the hell did the NFL Network spend the entire week teasing this Franco Harris ceremony, teasing it during the entire pregame show, and teasing it during the game ONLY FOR IT TO CUT AWAY JUST BEFORE THE TRIBUTE AIRED?????" Another said, "NFL Network should be absolutely embarrassed for cutting to commercial during the Franco Harris ceremony. Totally classless @nflnetwork." While many called it shameful. An individual wrote, "Not even a Steelers fan, but it’s really messed up that NFL Network cut away from the Franco Harris halftime tribute and ceremony to show commercials. And I know they’ve gotta make money, fine, but they advertised showing it these last couple days. Pretty shameful, @nflnetwork." While one more wrote, "The greed is so unbelievable, you had to put in a commercial break during the Franco Harris tribute. So disrespectful. Shameful."
