Spoilers for ‘The Falcon and The Winter Soldier’ Episode 2

‘The Falcon and The Winter Soldier’ has managed to create a lot of buzz since Marvel announced that it is going to come out with a series based on the superhero sidekicks. The first episode was filled with thrilling sequences and brought a massive amount of nostalgia and some slambang action.
Episode 1 was all about Falcon (Anthony Mackie) and Bucky Barnes (Sebastian Stan) living their lives after what happened in ‘Avengers: Endgame’.

However, the second episode reunites them for a bigger challenge. They get together to fight against a group named ‘Flag Smashers’, a group successful bonding to the Super serum that created Captain America and wants to wreak havoc across the globe.

'The Falcon and The Winter Soldier' Episode 1 Spoilers: Who is the new Captain America, if not Sam Wilson?

In the latest episode, we saw that the group was behind the robbery of some really important medications. Sam Wilson and Bucky Barnes followed them and saw that they have taken someone as a hostage. However, the girl captured was not a hostage and turned out to be a member of the group.
The girl, named Karli Morgenthau, fights Bucky and sends him out of the moving vehicle with just one kick.

So, who is Karli Morgenthau, and what are her motives?

Who is Karli Morgenthau?

Karli Morgenthau is currently the leader of a group named ‘Flag-Smashers’. ‘The Falcon and the Winter Soldier’ is the first appearance of Flag-Smasher in Marvel Universe. However, the things we saw in the show are completely opposite to the comics. In comics, the organization was called ‘ULTIMATUM’ and its leader was Karl Morgenthau. So, the makers decided to take creative liberty and introduced a female version of Karl on the show.

Karli thinks the world was better during the Blip and craves for a world that is unified without borders.

Unlike the comics, Karli and the organization seem to have superhuman strength. Karli and the other members wear a black mask adorned with a red handprint. Both episodes showed that they are an international threat.

Is Karli really the group's leader? Or is Baron Zemo possibly pulling their strings?

Who plays Karli Morgenthau in ‘The Falcon and the Winter Soldier’?

Erin Kellyman plays the character of Karli Mogenthau and all the things that took place in the second episode make us believe that she possibly goes by the name Flag-Smasher herself. The English actress has appeared on projects such as ‘Solo: A Star Wars Story’ and ‘Les Miserables’.
