LOSANGELES, CALIFRONIA: The Hershey Company has been receiving outrage from netizens as the giant chocolate company features a transgender person for the women's day celebration. After receiving heavy criticism by the Internet, #BoycottHersheys is the second most trending hashtag on Twitter.

Hershey's often trends on Twitter but only in negative terms. Last month, the chocolate company received the same hatred from netizens, but for another reason, that was firing unvaxxed employees. However, the current situation is the result of featuring Fae Johnstone in an add. Therefore, let's learn more about this public figure who shook the internet.

Who is Fae Johnstone?

Johnstone is a trans woman who is a feminist, writer, small business owner, and advocate. She comes from a middle-class household and is a White settler. She is a 2SLGBTQ+ and trans advocate with awards. Johnstone is the executive director and co-owner of Wisdom2Action (W2A), which is headquartered in Ottawa, Ontario, on an unceded and unrecognized Algonquin territory. She has extensive expertise as a project manager, diversity and inclusion consultant, and is an expert in community engagement, according to Widsom2Action.

She was raised in a military household and moved every three to four years as a child, but Ottawa is where she feels most at home. Despite having Ottawa as her home base, Fae frequently speaks, works, and travels across Canada to assist nonprofits, healthcare institutions, and social services in stepping up their efforts to include 2SLGBTQ+ people, address GBV, and strengthen community engagement, governance structures, and strategic goals, as per reports.

'Hershey's is erasing women'

Let's get #BoycottHersheys to #1." Another user slammed Hershey's saying, "Keep speaking up, ladies! We deserve better! Men should not be celebrated on International Women's Day. The entitled, misogynistic men who wear womanface should not be celebrated on any day. #BoycottHersheys." The third one added, "Weird how @Hersheys couldn't find real women to sell their herSHE product on #InternationalWomensDay. #whatisawoman #BoycottHersheys."

Further, someone noted, "Angry transphobes need a biology lesson. Trans Woman are women! And no, women are not being oppressed by trans women. #BoycottHersheys." In addition, a person stated, "They could have made a killing during woman's History Month. I mean it's right in their name, HERshey.
