In this episode titled 'Maggots', Nicholas (Josh Thomas) and his boyfriend Alex (Adam Faison) work through insecurities of their relationship while Nicholas' half-sisters and their friends explore the challenges of sexual urges.

Nicholas, who is now a guardian to his orphaned sisters Matilda (Kayla Cromer) and Genevieve (Maeve Press), is forced to deal with emotions he is not used to. Alex, who already told Nicholas he loves him, feels "hurt" that Nicholas didn't say those words back. Showcasing his usual nonchalant attitude to serious emotions, Nicholas tries but fails to run away from his saddened boyfriend's problems.

Facing it with a conversation, Alex finds out that Nicholas didn't say the three intense words back because Nicholas didn't feel that he loved Alex at that time. In order to make Alex feel better, Nicholas asks him to move in with him but they think that a decision like that would be too sudden, especially with the children in the house. Alex decides to accept this quirk of Nicholas, who thinks it's perfectly normal to not love your significant other.

While they make up, Nicholas gets a call from Matilda asking if she can have a threesome with her friends — Jeremy (Carsen Warner) and Drea (Lillian Carrier). Genevieve and Tellulah (Ivy Wolk) explore their curiosity of genitalia as Tellulah sends Leonard, a boy at school, a picture of a googled vagina. Tellulah, who runs the social ship in the friend circle, is hell-bent on exploring sex in high school with every good-looking guy.

While Genevieve and Barb (Lori Mae Hernandez) try to warn Tellulah otherwise, telling her that Leonard is a bad seed, we get possibly the best dialogue of this episode.

Tellulah says, "Crushes are over, sex is coming. I'm going to have sex with a bad guy with a good face because I am a highly visual person," and with an answer like that, her concerned friends back off. Matilda, on the other hand, is adamantly sex-positive. She tries to satisfy her curiosity with two of her autistic friends and they plan a threesome. While Jeremy backs out because he is embarrassed, Drea and Matilda communicate their wants and needs and then share a kiss.

In this episode, we see how Matilda and Genevieve confront sexuality in different ways and it is interesting to see how Matilda navigates teenage life while being on the spectrum. We are shipping Nicholas and Alex though, so we hope that there is reparable damage on the horizon.

'Everything's Gonna Be Okay' airs every Thursday at 7.30 pm CST on Freeform.
