A lot of milestones were accomplished in this episode, from teenage drinking to a parental moment. In this episode, titled 'Giant Ancient Mantises', Genevieve celebrates her birthday with her "weird" friends while Nicholas, Matilda and Alex bond over peach schnapps and boy troubles.

Genevieve, a highschool student tries her best to fit in with her girlfriends, Tellulah and Barb. With Tellulah as Queen Bee, Genevieve not only has fashion mishaps to worry about but also a bad influence.

While Tellulah's alcohol is confiscated by Alex, Nicholas is in for a ride with a house full of hormone-filled teenage girls. Genevieve, embarrassed by how her siblings and Alex are making her look, banishes them to the outskirts of their house.

Matilda, Alex, and Nicholas spend their time bonding in the garage over drinks and boy talk. Having found out that Matilda is interested in a guy named "Luke", Nicholas and Alex help her strategize her drunk texts and phone calls to her first "boy".

After the excitement of "Luke mishaps" die down, Matilda breaks down admitting to her brother that she has no idea what's going on. She explains how much she misses her father and how she doesn't understand teenage life, autism or her father dying.

Sad that she feels as though she's a burden on her family, her brother and Alex assure her that she'll reach her teenage milestones just fine and that they love hanging out with her.

Meanwhile, Genevieve and Barb are "peer-pressured" by Tellulah into taking prescription pills to "turn it up a notch". After Genevieve gets helps from Nicholas because she thinks Barb is overdosing, Alex finds out they were just blood pressure pills.

Nicholas now steps into his first parental moment, handling teenage drug curiosity quite well. Having them confess that they were faking their high and how foolish their behavior was, he says he'll never speak of the incident again.

A tad bit of scolding and light sarcasm, Nicholas aced his sitdown with his sister and her friends. The end of the episode — probably the most tear-jerking part — brings in the loss that the kids still feel after losing their dad.

Nicholas gives Genevieve a birthday present her dad left for her — a ring that belonged to her mother. A hell of a birthday to get through, but Nicholas, we think, handled all the teenage drama very well.

Not to mention, as he said, he is a mix of cool and responsible and is definitely finding his way around being a guardian to his orphaned sisters. Fun fact, it seems as though the little creatures that the episodes are named after make cameos in each of their respective episodes.

'Everything's Gonna Be Okay' airs every Thursday at 7.30c on Freeform.
