American singer, songwriter and record producer Lana Del Rey has cancelled her near-approaching tour in Europe as well as her UK dates as she has fallen ill. The tour was scheduled to begin in Amsterdam, Netherlands at the Ziggo Dome on February 21. The 'Summertime Sadness' singer cited a sudden illness which caused her to lose her singing voice, according to reports.

Fans are gutted on Twitter with many a comment sharing their disappointment. One fan had pretty big plans to see his favourite singer. He says, "I  bought six tickets for three venues and two hotels and four trains." A few fans appear rather angry about the news, saying things like "Kill me" and "Wtf I’m actually devastated" and "Well, that birthday gift had a short shelf life".

As per BBC reports, Del Rey said in a statement: “Sorry to let everyone down so last minute but this illness has taken me by surprise and I have totally lost my singing voice", adding, "The doctor has advised four weeks off for the moment. I hate to let everyone down but I need to get well. Love Lana.”

Presently, there is no update on whether the tour will be rescheduled, although Lana Del Rey has a few festivals lined up in support of her latest studio LP 'Norman F**king Rockwell' which seem to be unaffected. Del Rey announced recently that she has begun working on her forthcoming album 'White Hot Fever' which she explained as "probably will be a surprise release sometime within the 12 or 13 months", according to NME.
