OAKLAND COUNTY, MICHIGAN: Amid rising speculations around whether Ethan Crumbley's parents would be charged in the Oxford school mass shooting, it has been found that both James and Jennifer Crumbley have long rap sheets with a string of felonies to their names. While 15-year-old Ethan was charged with terrorism, first-degree murder, assault, and gun possession, Michigan prosecutor Karen McDonald suggested that his parents might also be charged. She confirmed that Ethan would be tried as an adult for the mass shooting on November 30 that killed four of his classmates and injured seven others, including a teacher.

Several shocking details about Ethan's family have emerged in the media, prompting many to accuse his parents of being responsible for the massacre. One of the major allegations is that Ethan's father had bought him the handgun he used in the school, while his mother boasted of taking him with her to practice shooting. Internet sleuths have now found an open letter from Ethan's mother to former President Donald Trump, where she thanked him for allowing her right to bear arms.

Ethan's parents James and Jennifer Crumbley have urged their son to plead the fifth while being arraigned. However, they themselves remain at the risk of facing charges, mainly on the ground that they failed to keep their firearms away from their teen son's reach.

In a more startling discovery, the rap sheets of the Crumbley parents have revealed a long list of past offenses, which might increase their chances of being charged over the shooting incident. The couple has had multiple run-ins with the police in Florida, according to the court records.

Both James and Jennifer Crumbley, who are 45 and 43 years old respectively, faced DUI charges on February 12, 2005. The charges were filed separately in their names at the Duval County Court. They faced a $652.50 fine each and pleaded no contest.

Prior to that, James was busted by the Atlantic Beach Police Department for driving without a license. He paid more than $200 in penalty at that time for also having an improper tag. James Crumbley also got embroiled in legal trouble over child support payments to his ex-wife, with whom he shares 18-year-old son Eli. Aside from legal offenses, the contractor was fired from his last company for undisclosed reasons.

In 2003, Jennifer Crumbley was accused of writing a worthless check for $150. The case was later dismissed for some reason. However, she repeated the same offense the following year and was penalized with a fine of $240.

Presently, prosecutor Karen McDonald highlighted Ethan's father giving him the Sig Sauger 9mm handgun and stated, "We know that owning a gun means securing it properly and locking it and keeping the ammunition separate and not allowing access to other individuals, particularly minors. We have to hold individuals accountable who don't do that."
