Eric Trump trolled for claiming 'MAGA movement is going nowhere', Internet says 'he's got that right'
Even as Georgia Senate runoff election results were coming in, Eric Trump went on Fox News' Sean Hannity on Tuesday, January 5, as part of GOP's last-ditch effort to stop Congress from certifying President-elect Joe Biden’s Electoral College victory over his dad.
He began his interview declaring that it “doesn’t feel right” that Biden won, no doubt repeating Donald Trump's rhetoric. “The media is totally carrying the water for Biden. They know the guy had zero enthusiasm, he did not win,” he claimed. “I mean, he couldn’t draw 12 people into a classroom when my father was filling stadiums. No one believes that this guy got 80 million votes. It doesn’t feel right, it doesn’t look right.”
Eric then discussed the congressional certification of the Electoral College vote on Wednesday, January 6. “And I think tomorrow’s gonna tell you a lot about the country, because I can tell you, Sean, any senator or any congressman that does not — meaning on this side — that does not fight tomorrow, I’m telling you will not, their political career is over because the MAGA movement is going nowhere,” he said.

He added: “My father’s created the greatest political movement in American history and I’m telling you, they will get primaried the next time around, and they will lose if they don’t stand up and show some backbone and show some conviction."
As the clip of his interview went viral on Twitter, a number of people on social media pointed out how his speech appeared to be nonsensical and pointed out the irony in his words 'MAGA is going nowhere'. He may have meant to say that MAGA is here to stay, but the effect of his words were the complete opposite as social media had a field day, enjoying at his expense.
One said: "He got that right." "Blah blah blah. Bullshit," another wrote, while another said, "For sure is going nowhere." A third commented, "Wooooo so scary." One more remarked, "The political movement was so great it only lasted one term."
The next quipped, "What’s his job again? Son of a madman? Okay there, buddy." Another wrote, "Eric Trump makes it official: 'MAGA is going nowhere!'" A commenter tweeted, "ATrump doing a little felony extortion on live TV, must be a Tuesday." One more noted, "'The MAGA movement is going nowhere' is the most honest thing a Trump has ever said." A person said, "The Trump effect will have dissipated by June of this year no one will be talking about Trumpism in the 2022 and 2024 races." Another said, "Translation: Please y’all, I don’t wanna go to jail." One more remarked, "Do you think they have to write everything out for him? Lord knows compete sentences are not his strong suit."

Trump's younger son also took to Twitter to claim that he will personally work to make sure that every Republican who does not oppose the Electoral College votes be defeated. "I will personally work to defeat every single Republican Senator / Congressman who doesn’t stand up against this fraud - they will be primaried in their next election and they will lose,” Trump tweeted, which was flagged by the networking platform.

His tweet came after as many as 140 House Republicans and at least 13 Senate Republicans have said they will object to the results in Arizona, Georgia or, Pennsylvania which would hinder the certification of the Electoral College’s 306-232 margin for Biden.
