Born on May 3, 1977, Eric was raised by parents Ken and Rita Church. In his early years, he worked with his father at a furniture company and by 13, he started playing the guitar. During those years, when he was in his senior year of high school, Church wrote a lot of songs and landed a gig at a local bar. Not many know about his first engagement with a Spanish teacher... If reports are to be believed, Church was going to marry another girl long back but the bride's father wanted him to take up a corporate career. Church chose music over love and the rest is history.

Born in the United States of America, Katherine Blasingame was a music publisher before she met Church. Sharing the adorable story behind their first meeting, the singer told Taste of Country, “She was in the music business before I was... She was trying to hook me up to write with one of her writers that she represented, that was how we met.”
After dating each other for a while, the two decided to get hitched. In 2008, the pair exchanged vows in Westglow Spa and Resort in Blowing Rock. “We decided that it would be the ideal spot to get married, up in the North Carolina mountains, with just family around us. I can’t imagine a more perfect spot,” Church confessed.
Sharing the most beautiful moment from their wedding, Church said, “There was one on the Carolina record called ‘You Make It Look So Easy’, which I wrote for our wedding — by myself. That song was 100% about it.” The two have an amazing partnership when it comes to music. Church said, “It's great now, because being a publisher and being somebody in the industry, I can bounce songs off of her and she has the knowledge, you know, to be kind of that sounding board of what I should cut and what I shouldn't cut.”

After marriage, the couple soon welcomed their first son, Boone McCoy Church, in 2011. Four years later, the pair were blessed with another son, Tennessee Hawkins, who goes by the name Hawk, in 2015. The iconic singer penned down his fatherhood journey in the song ‘Three Year Old’.
The picture-perfect country couple started a non-profit called The Chief Cares Fund in 2013. Helping orphans, the underprivileged, and those in need around Tennessee and North Carolina, the organization has provided many with education, clothing, and bedding.
