Emma Stone has never been the one to shy away from letting the public know how she feels about a certain thing or a certain someone - and true to herself, she recently spilled the beans, gushing and everything about her 'La La Land' co-star Ryan Gosling, with whom she has shared screen space on more than one occasion. Recently the 29-year-old Oscar-winning actress attended the Telluride Film Festival in Colorado, and as she took the stage, she gushed about just how important Gosling is and has been to her ever since they met for the first time on the sets of 'Crazy, Stupid Love'.
Stone was attending the film festival on the occasion of her being honored for her remarkable career. During a Q&A session, she went on to explain just how much Gosling has impacted her work and how much she had learned from the actor who's played her leading man thrice so far. She also stressed on just how much she treasures the friendship they share - which by the looks of it, seems pretty tight!
“I can’t even imagine what my life would be without Ryan,” she said of her 'dear, wonderful friend.' She continued: "He’s so special. It makes me emotional. He’s so talented but he’s such a great person to work with because he’s so collaborative and excited about the process. He’s taught me a lot about being really generous.”
While Gosling couldn't be there in person, as he was attending the ceremony of his own mother renewing her wedding vows, Damien Chazelle, who directed both Stone and Gosling in 'La La Land', presented the actress with a silver medal for her accomplishments. The people attending the event were also shown a 25-minute long retrospective of Stone's dazzling roles over the years.
But this isn't the first time Stone has openly spoken about how much Gosling means to her. In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, back when 'La La Land' had just released in 2016, she had shared her fondness for the man. "We really hit it off," she gushed about their first encounter. "We've been just pals ever since. He is a wonderful person, but also an incredible actor. It's a lucky thing that we get to do three. It's not bad." The pair's third film together was 2013's 'Gangster Squad'.
Coming up next for Stone is 'The Favourite' - a period drama where she plays the role of Abigail Masham, who's a newcomer in the court of Queen Ann (Olivia Colman) in the early 18th century. Her plot takes a twist when she finds herself vying for the Queen's favor along with her cousin Sarah Churchill (Rachel Weisz) and thus ensues mayhem. The film will arrive in theatres on November 23.
