Emily Evil Reznick: Girl, 16, who killed mom in 'self-defense' with boyfriend's help gets 10 years in prison
OILDALE, CALIFORNIA: A California teenager who admitted to killing her mother last year with the help of her boyfriend will spend nearly 10 years in prison. Kern County Superior Court Judge Wendy Avila sentenced Emily Evil Reznick to life in a secure youth facility until she reaches the age of 25 for the July 2022 murder of her mother Michelle Louise Taylor, 54, Law&Crime reported.
Back in 2022, Evil reportedly confessed to the crime and claimed that she killed her mother with help of her boyfriend Nikolai Thorn Roach in "self-defense" after going through a year of abuse. "I will never ever forgive her for what she has put me through and did to me at the end and all the lies she put me through too.” "I hate myself for what I did,” KGET reported back in October quoting one of the letters she allegedly wrote to her friend Kenneth Eagles.

'You haven’t even begun to comprehend the magnitude of what you’ve done'
“You haven’t even begun to comprehend the magnitude of what you’ve done,” Avila told Reznick during a Wednesday hearing, as per KGET. “Your mother was your victim.” Evil's boyfriend Roach, as per the report, was ordered to be held in custody earlier this month until his 25th birthday. He was sent to APEX Academy which is a 40-bed facility run by the Kern County Probation Department.
Judge Avila is also said to have chastised Reznick for her lack of remorse, recalling talks the youngster had about killing her mother and said she spoke about her like she wasn't even "a real human being. The minor’s disregard for human life and her ability to commit this crime is deeply troubling to this court,” Avila reportedly said during the hearing.
Reznick's lack of remorse as he once told her BF not to be concerned
She reportedly had told Roach while plotting the crime that he shouldn't be concerned because they were both only 15 and would only be sent to "kid prison" for a short time.
Both Reznick and Roach were fifteen when they were arrested the next day Taylor's body was found at her home on Arthur Avenue near Rutherford Court. Evidence collected in the case prosecutors revealed they had been exchanging text messages for weeks plotting Taylor's murder, contradicting Reznick's assertions that they killed her mother in self-defense.
She had named Knofe 'Buddy Buck' while plotting the Murder
She even named the murder weapon “Buddy Buck” to refer to the knife she used to fatally stab Taylor multiple times. Prosecutor Antonios shared that the teenagers had even considered at one point killing Taylor's boyfriend too, but he found the body and called 911. Rizneck then began spreading suspicion about her boyfriend messaging friends that he would be the likely murderer. During the investigation, she told police her mother may have died from suicide.
