'Emergence' Episode 2: Zabryna Guevara promises the fiercely loyal Abby will always have Jo's back and help solve Piper's mystery

From the way things are going, this unwavering loyalty is going to come in handy for Jo, and we will hopefully see it getting tested when Season 1 Episode 2 of 'Emergence' drops

ABC's 'Emergence' premiered last week, and with just the first episode, the showrunners have managed to leave viewers with a hoard of questions, which if we know mystery shows, are going to plague us for seasons to come.

With 'Emergence', however, things are going to be different, promises Zabryna Guevara, who plays Dr. Abby Fraiser on the ABC show.

In an interview with MEA WorldWide (MEAWW), Guevara reveals, "We're going to be revealing things for you really quickly actually. I'm very surprised when I read the script but I realized 'Oh, we're there. Okay great!'"

She elaborates on how no viewers are going to complain about a slow pace pertaining to this show. "I don't think anybody's going to be wanting some shoe to drop, and the more you learn and see what's going to happen, I think more questions come up."

"You think that some big reveal is going to be like, 'Oh finally, I understand it all', but all it's going to do is make you think, 'Wait, now I have 10 more questions that popped up in its place' So, it may mushroom that way," she says.

Guevara, who is yet to be bored by the script or feel like it's repetitive, also shares that no one else would be bored with the show either. "It's very fast, and I think that's kind of the way people want TV shows now."

"You can sit and binge an entire season in a day if you have the time and desire. People want the information quickly with the 24-hour news cycle and its sort of informed how shows are written," she says.

She adds how her character Abby would have a huge role in the future of the show, and much like the people closest to Jo (Allison Tolman), she too would have an impact on the mysterious Piper (Alexa Swinton) and her future.

"Everyone surrounding Jo is going to be, on some level, instrumental in figuring out the mystery surrounding Piper's appearance at that plane crash. I think everybody's going to, at some point, have some involvement," she says.

This seems evident from the pilot episode as well, where we learned just how good a couple of friends Abby and Jo really are. "They have known each other forever and they're like sisters," she says.

She adds how the good doctor shares one characteristic trait with her character from 'New Amsterdam', Dora. Dora and Abby are both fiercely loyal.

From the way things are going, this unwavering loyalty is going to come in handy for Jo, and we will hopefully see it getting tested when Season 1 Episode 2 of 'Emergence' airs on Tuesday, October 1 on ABC.
