'Emergence' Episode 10: Piper may be waiting for the right moment to foil Splinter's plan

It wasn't just Jo Evans (Allison Tolman) who had a shock when Piper left with Benny (Owain Yeoman) and Helen (Rowena King). The audience too was perplexed as to why the child would leave the relative safety of Jo and the family and work for Splinter in whatever their yet-to-be-established crooked plan is.
One explanation is the possible manipulation to turn her into a fully-functioning AI with zero human ties (absurd and whacky, but that's a possibility). The other possibility might be Piper's secret plan of somehow foiling Splinter's scheme. Nine episodes have cemented the fact that she's fully capable of taking care of herself.
One reason why she may have actually summoned Jo to Pennsylvania is to probably let her know she's in safe hands. Mia's (Ashley Aufderheide ) frantic attempts to reach Piper on the ham radio has actually reached the little one and she tells Jo to inform Mia that she's "not afraid". This implies there is a plan after all and Piper might just be waiting for the right moment. Perhaps the encounter with Jo, as cold as it may have been, might have just been a ploy to fool Splinter.
'Emergence' has been thoroughly unpredictable. It's also playing the cards close to its chest by not divulging either Piper's or Splinter's plans suggests that the series is set to drop some major shockers in the remaining three episodes. There hasn't been a Season 2 announcement officially but with the way the sci-fi thriller has managed to hold its own in terms of ratings and popularity, there might be news of a renewal heading our way pretty soon.
