Elon Musk calls Elizabeth Warren 'Senator Karen', Internet calls it 'quote of the year'
Elon Musk left the Internet in splits as he dubbed Senator Elizabeth Warren as "Senator Karen" after she baselessly claimed he does not pay taxes and is "freeloading off everyone else."
The 50-year-old founder of Tesla and SpaceX was named Time magazine's Person of the Year for 2021 on Monday, December 13. MEAWW previously reported how ProPublica published alleged ‘tax secrets’ of Musk, Jeff Bezos and Bill Gates in leaked IRS files. We also reported how Musk's ex Grimes called Artificial Intelligence or AI the 'fastest path to communism' on viral TikTok.

Sen Warren attacked Musk in a tweet on Monday while responding to him being named Time's Person of the Year. "Let’s change the rigged tax code so The Person of the Year will actually pay taxes and stop freeloading off everyone else," she alleged. Musk responded by saying, "Stop projecting," as he linked a 2019 opinion piece by political commentator Bradley Blakeman who called Warren a "fraud" following her claims of Native American ancestry.
"You remind me of when I was a kid and my friend’s angry Mom would just randomly yell at everyone for no reason," Musk wrote, adding, "Please don’t call the manager on me, Senator Karen."
Musk didn't stop there. He further responded to Warren's allegations that he does not pay taxes. "And if you opened your eyes for 2 seconds, you would realize I will pay more taxes than any American in history this year," he wrote. "Don’t spend it all at once… oh wait you did already," Musk added in another tweet.
Social media was in splits over the SpaceX founder dubbing the Massachusetts Democrat "Senator Karen". "I hope @ewarren’s new nickname #SenatorKaren sticks and #Bitcoin ‘ers run with it," investor Jay Gould tweeted, adding a laughing emoticon.
"I think @SenWarren is feeling a little left out. I'd like to nominate her for @TIME's #KOY 2021 cover. I've even provided a sample cover on her behalf. Everyone deserves a little spotlight now and then. #SenatorKaren #KarenoftheYear #NoFreloading@elonmusk," one Twitter user joked, sharing a photoshopped 'Senator Karen' on the Time magazine cover.
"The more I dig on @SenWarren aka #SenatorKaren, the more I laugh. She complains that @elonmusk takes too many energy credits, yet WHAT'S THIS!!! Oh, it's Elizabeth Warren's 2018 tax return with a $46,452 solar system and $13,936 in TAX credits. Methinks thou protests too much," another wrote, sharing a screengrab of the senator's 2018 tax return.
"Elon Musk is the best thing on Twitter since Trump," a comment read. "Senator Karen GETS HER PAYCHECK FROM TAXES and somehow she calls Elon Musk a freeloader?" someone else added. "'Senator Karen'-@elonmusk He gets person of the year and quote of the year!" another chimed in.

He gets person of the year and quote of the year!
Warren is not the first senator to have been trolled by the billionaire. In November, Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders found himself in Musk's crosshairs after tweeting, “We must demand that the extremely wealthy pay their fair share. Period.” The following day, Musk responded by saying, “I keep forgetting that you’re still alive.” He then asked Sanders, “Want me to sell more stock, Bernie? Just say the word.” He then slammed the senator by declaring, "Bernie is a taker, not a maker.”
