"Rocked and shocked to the core": Mom rattled after 81-year-old man tried to buy her 8-year-old daughter for $200k at Walmart
An elderly man allegedly attempted to purchase an 8-year-old girl from her mother for $200,000 at a Walmart store in Port Orange, Florida, according to police reports. Officials on Monday identified the suspect as 81-year-old Hellmuth Kolb and booked him into Volusia County Jail on September 29 after the mother, Tracy Nigh, alerted the authorities about the incident. According to Orlando’s WKMG-TV, the suspect was charged with battery and false imprisonment.
According to police, Kolb approached the mother and her daughter while they were sitting on a bench inside Walmart on Dunlawton Avenue on Friday. The suspect initially asked Nigh if she were married and then turned his attention to the child and allegedly asked the mother if she would accept money in exchange for her daughter.
