Fort Hood soldier Elder Fernandes has been reported missing only days after the 11th death at the Texas base this year.

The military's base 1st Cavalry Division has requested the public for help in finding Fernandes, 23. The Killeen Police Department revealed that Fernandes has not been heard from or seen since Monday afternoon, August 17, when his Staff Sergeant had dropped him off at his residence, NY Post reports.

The Army's 1st Cavalry Division took to Twitter to share a post that read, "We are seeking your help in locating Sgt. Elder Fernandes. We are actively searching to locate him and continue to stay in contact with his family, friends, and law enforcement. Please contact the Fort Hood Military Police at 254-288-1170 or US Army CID at 254-287-2722, if you have any information on his whereabouts."

The authorities revealed that his family had reported him missing on Wednesday, August 19. He had last been seen wearing a pair of black Army shorts and a T-shirt with red athletic shoes, the department added.

According to The Sun, the Army division also said that their "primary concern" is the soldier's "safety and wellbeing". Democratic Massachusetts Rep. Liz Miranda revealed that Fernandes's keys were found in his car and also all of his belongings.

It has also been reported that Fernandes had recently signed a new lease but had not picked up the keys to the apartment. Miranda added that Fernandes's mother flew to Texas to look for her son. The Army has issued a press release which reads, "We have completed a search of the entire division area, to include motorpools, parking lots, and headquarters buildings and the unit is in contact with the Soldiers Family, the US Army Criminal Investigation Division and civilian law enforcement agencies to help find him as we continue our search."

Fernandes has been described as being 5ft 4 inches tall and weighs around 133 pounds. His disappearance comes after the 11th death at the military base this year, the most recent being that of Specialist Cole Jakob who was hit by a car and died on August 12.

His death followed that of 10 other soldiers including that of Vanessa Guillen whose remains were discovered just months after she had gone missing. Among the dead are Specialist Aaron David Robinson, Gregory Wedel-Morales, Private Mejhor Morta, Specialist Francisco Gilberto Hernandez-Vargas, Private First Class Brandon Scott Rosecrans, Private First Class Freddy Delacruz Jr, Specialist Christopher Wayne Sawyer and Specialist Shelby Tyler Jones.

Many social media users commented on the Twitter post shared by the Army, some outraged, and some offering their prayers. One such user shared, "What in the actual f**k is going on at Hood? Almost 6 years I spent there as an MP and we didn't have all this bullshit. Leaders take care of and check on your damn troops!!!"

Another commented saying, "What the actual hell is going on up there at FT Hood?! Yall in the Texas Bermuda triangle? Good Lord, yall need Jesus and an exorcism!!!"

"Seriously guys. Another soldier missing? It looks like you guys have a problem on the inside," said another social media user.

Anyone with information related to Fernandes' disappearance is asked to contact Fort Hood Military Police at (254) 288-1170, the U.S. Army CID at (254) 287-2722, or the Killeen Police Department at (254) 200-7905.
