LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: It’s 2023 and almost everyone around the world knows Ed Sheeran and has swayed to his songs at some point in their life. Sheeran is best known for writing and singing some of the most emotional songs around today, and one must wonder where he gets the inspiration from. His latest docu-series on Disney+, 'Ed Sheeran: The Sum of It All,’ sheds light on some of his darkest times in recent years, including wife Cherry Seaborn's cancer diagnosis.

If you thought 'Ed Sheeran: The Sum of It All' was going to be all about music and Sheeran working a crowd on some of the world’s biggest stages, you are in for a surprise. While the docu-series is scaffolded by music throughout, it focuses more on his personal battles and how they intertwine with his relationship with music.

Part 1 focuses on Cherry Seaborn!

There are four parts to 'Ed Sheeran: The Sum of It All', and the first one focuses on Sheeran’s wife Cherry Seaborn. This couple has truly seen everything, from being friends in school to eventually getting married and having two beautiful children. Relationships of all kinds have been important to Sheeran all his life, but in the first part, he focuses on his wife, who makes an appearance for most of the episode. Cherry lights up the room, and we can see why she inspires many of his songs!

As soon as 'Ed Sheeran: The Sum of It All' begins, you already know you are in for an emotional roller-coaster ride. A lot of Sheeran’s fans have closely followed his life, but many trials and tribulations have gone under the radar, and this documentary addresses it all. One of the toughest moments of Sheeran’s life was when his wife was diagnosed with cancer, as the couple journey back to the diagnosis they received, while she was pregnant with their second child.

Cherry lets the fans in on little details about Sheeran that he wouldn’t have otherwise told himself, so we are glad she was an important part of 'Ed Sheeran: The Sum of It All.’ One of the things that truly stood out was when Sheeran received the news about his wife and ended up writing 7 songs in 4 hours. That has to be some kind of record, doesn’t it?

Love

'Ed Sheeran: The Sum of It All' Part 1 is titled ‘Love’, and it lives up to its title, but also leaves fans nervous about what’s to come in the documentary moving forward. With a tremendous start to Sheeran’s life story, 'Ed Sheeran: The Sum of It All' proves that it is nothing like other music documentaries that one might have seen. Viewers will be too busy focusing on Cherry and Sheeran’s relationship to realize that the episode's run time has passed already. We definitely want more screen time of them together, maybe Disney+ could have a spin-off docu-series, if that’s even a thing?

You can stream all four parts of 'Ed Sheeran: The Sum of It All' on Disney+ from May 3, 2023.
