The Murder of Dylan Lyons: Fiance of journalist killed by Keith Melvin Moses left absolutely shattered
ORLANDO, FLORIDA: The journalist who got killed along with a nine-year-old girl and a woman in a shooting spree in Pine Hills on Wednesday afternoon, February 22, while reporting at the scene of a homicide, has been identified as 24-year-old Dylan Colby Lyons. He worked for Spectrum News 13, a regional cable news channel in Orlando, and was covering a shooting that killed a 20-year-old woman. Dylan was accompanied by another colleague, who also got gunshot wounds and is in a critical condition.
Orange County Sheriff John Mina identified the suspect as 19-year-old Keith Melvin Moses, who got arrested and charged with murder in connection to the shooting. The suspect allegedly attacked the team of Spectrum News 13 in a vehicle at around 4 pm on February 22, according to the Mirror. The journalists were covering the previous killing of the woman, yet to be identified, in the area who was shot hours before this incident occurred. Reports said the accused later returned to the scene and shot dead the journalist. He also shot a mother and her 9-year-old daughter in the vicinity. The child succumbed to her injuries while the woman is in critical condition. They are yet to be identified.
The sheriff said, "[Moses] was an acquaintance of the woman this morning," reports NPR. It's not clear if the accused knew the mother daughter duo.

Who was Dylan Colby Lyons?
Dylan joined the News 13 team in July 2022 and had previously reported for several local Florida stations like WCJB TV20 from September 2021 to June 2022 after graduating from the University of Central Florida with a degree in journalism and political science in 2019, according to his LinkedIn page. News 13 website states, "Born and raised in Philadelphia, Dylan’s journey to journalism was fueled by his desire to tell stories that impact local communities. As a reporter, he’s honored to have the unique privilege of being a voice for the voiceless and making sure all communities and stories are treated fairly and equally." As per the website, in 2020, he was awarded the best 'Politics/Elections Series' by the Florida Association of Broadcast Journalists, and in 2021, he was a finalist for Investigative Reporting.
Dylan was indentified by his older sister Rachel Lyons, as per New York Post, and who created a GoFundMe page to raise money to cover his funeral costs. The page read, "Dylan would have been 25 years old in March. He was a happy soul and wonderful person in life. My brother was our baby. He was taken too early from us.” She also wrote on the GoFundMe page that "he was an acting father to his niece and nephew who he loved so much. He loved his fianceé and and was a devoted son to his mother and father."
'The love of my life was murdered'
Dylan's fiancée Casey Lynn wrote in a tweet, "The love of my life was murdered. I will never be the same person ever again. Please help my family and I during this time." Karine Jean-Pierre, White House Press Secretary, also tweeted by saying, "Our hearts go out to the family of the journalist killed today and the crew member injured in Orange County, Florida, as well as the whole Spectrum News team." News 13 anchor Greg Angel retweeted and wrote, "Our hearts are heavy. We lost an incredible young journalist and human. Too young. Our hearts are heavy for their family. And our colleague's family still fighting. For the loss of a 9 year old girl and her mom and their family."
