'Dublin Murders' Episode 5: Rob and Cassie's hookup disappoints fans who are worried about it impacting their working relationship

It is clear that Rob has no interest in a relationship and belittles Cassie for even expecting one, and that is what it takes for her to walk out.

There are many reasons that compel us to keep watching Starz's 'Dublin Murders' and among the primary ones is the chemistry between Rob (Killian Scott) and Cassie (Sarah Greene), who despite being extremely good looking individuals and sharing everything about their lives they have each maintained a professional partnership and a deep friendship that we respect. It is- was - a partnership that disregarded the buddy cop TV show cookie-cutter model, and yet now we sit disappointed after Cassie and Rob hooked up in the most recently aired Season 1 Episode 4. 

Life has been tough for the cops since the season began, with Katy's (Amy Macken) murder investigation bringing up the past that Rob is so desperately trying to leave behind. He is being sucked up by the events that lead to the disappearance of his two friends and the entire town is blaming him for it. This, in turn, has clearly turned him into a bully, and he is seen throwing his weight around way more often than we would have liked to see. 



 

Meanwhile, Cassie is left flabbergasted by the revelation that a woman names Lexie, bearing an uncanny resemblance to her existed and was killed in the same woods where Rob was traumatized and Katy was murdered. Her experiences lead her to become a bully towards her boyfriend Sam (Moe Dunford), and he walks away after a point. Cassie seeks comfort in Rob, one thing leads to another and we find ourselves watch Rob and her making out. 

It is clear that Rob has no interest in a relationship and belittles Cassie for even expecting one, and that is what it takes for her to walk out. They both have their own demons and will be seen dealing with them separately when the show returns with Episode 5 on Sunday, December 8. Fans, who did not sign up for Rob and Cas to hook up in the first place, are wondering what this means for the cases they are working on. 

We have to wait till December 8 to find out.
