MOSCOW, IDAHO: Forensic pathologist Dr Michael Baden has shared his insights on the investigation into the brutal University of Idaho murders, which still remain unsolved. In new bodycam footage released by the Moscow Police Department, cops are seen responding to a noise complaint at the slain students' home. In the video, one of the victims, Madison Mogen, appears to be responding to the officers in September. However, no arrests were made, and Mogen was given a warning to keep the music down at the house, where the students were killed two months later.

All four victims, Xana Kernodle, 20, Kaylee Goncalves, 21, Madison Mogen, 21, and Ethan Chapin, 20 were stabbed to death in their off-campus housing unit on November 13. Dr Baden said a neighbor revealed that they had heard screams from the house around the time of the killings. However, he added it is not confirmed if this actually pertains to the time of the murders, which police previously reported occurred between 3 and 4 am.

After almost six weeks of intense investigation, authorities haven't yet found a murder weapon or identified a suspect. Despite previously describing the crime scene as "sloppy," police haven't disclosed any new evidence from their investigation so far. With a killer on the loose and fear gripping the tight-knit community, several suspect the case could eventually go cold. Baden told Fox News, "More than 50 percent of the murders now in the united states... become cold cases, don't get solved! That has to be kept in mind."

"There should be a lot of information available at the case at a closed community," he added. "It does not look like it will become a cold case." Baden also told the news station that evidence suggests the assailant was familiar with the victims' three-story residence. "Apparently it appears to be that one of the girls on the third floor was a target and would have known the person," said Baden. The killer then "went downstairs and had wakened up the two people on the second floor and stabbed them to death," he added. Capt Roger Lanier of the Moscow Police Department said last month that the case is their "highest priority.” “We owe that to the families,” he said, according to The New York Times
