Former New Jersey Governor and Donald Trump supporter, Chris Christie, on Sunday, November 22, said it was time for the POTUS’ refusal to concede end and also called his legal team a "national embarrassment". He appeared on ABC News’ ‘This Week’ program and shared his thoughts.

A video clip was posted on Twitter from ‘This Week’ official handle, host George Stephanopoulos stated that Trump's legal team had lost 34 court cases and he went to ask "Is it finally time for this end?", to which Christie answered in affirmative. He then went on to say, “The president has had an opportunity to access the courts. And I said to you, you know, George, starting at 2:30 a.m. on Wednesday morning, if you've got the evidence of fraud, present it. And what's happened here is, quite frankly, the conduct of the president's legal team has been a national embarrassment."

He further said, “Sidney Powell accusing [Georgia] Gov. Brian Kemp of a crime on television yet being unwilling to go on TV and defend and lay out the evidence that she supposedly has. This is outrageous conduct by any lawyer, and notice, George, they won't do it inside the courtroom. They allege fraud outside the courtroom, but when they go inside the courtroom, they don't plead fraud, and they don't argue fraud.”

Christie added, “I've been a supporter of the president. I voted for him twice. But elections have consequences, and we cannot continue to act as if something happened here that didn't happen. You have an obligation to present the evidence. The evidence has not been presented.” He also said, “I said it on election night, and I hope more say it going forward because the country is what has to matter the most, as much as I'm a strong Republican and I love my party. It's the country that has to come first.”

Meanwhile, as reported by MEAWW, Trump’s legal team members distanced themselves from Powell. Rudy Giuliani, Attorney for President Trump, and Jenna Ellis, Trump Campaign Senior Legal Adviser and Attorney for President Trump issued a formal statement on the official website, which read: “Sidney Powell is practicing law on her own. She is not a member of the Trump Legal Team. She is also not a lawyer for the President in his personal capacity.”

Christie’s latest comments were discussed on Twitter as well. A user asked, “Does anyone care what @ChrisChristie thinks?” Another user replied to this and said, “No one.  He is like Jeb Bush.  A useless republican buffoon dismissed by Trump.” A user opined, “@GovChristie it’s pathetic that you talk about Republicans accepting the results of the election. Where have the Republicans been the last 6-9 months definitely not looking after the best interest of Americans? I can’t watch @ThisWeekABC when you are on.”

Another said, “I can’t stand Chris Christie...but glad he is speaking out.” A user commented, “@GovChristie too late to resurrect your career. Might as well become a Democrat.” Another said, “I am glad to see Christie urge Trump to concede, stop election protests, and support the transition of office. More Republicans must speak out loudly on these issues!” One stated, “Chris Christie is a national embarrassment as well and so are majority of the GOP.”
