Has Trump's return sent White House staff in 'full-blown freak-out' mode? Internet prays for their health

After Trump's early discharge from the hospital, many people took to the internet to say how concerned they were for people working at the White House

President Donald Trump got discharged from Walter Reed National Military Medical Center and returned to the White House on Monday, October 5, to continue his fight against Covid-19, after his medical team warned that he “may not entirely be out of the woods yet". As soon as he got discharged people started slamming him for his early return and putting everyone in the White House at risk. The Internet also drew comparisons between his return and Herman Cain's death, who succumbed to Covid-19 on July 30, 2020.

Dressed in a navy suit and tie and wearing a face mask, Trump walked out of Walter Reed on his own. Upon walking out the doors of the hospital, he made a low fist pump and gave a thumbs up to the press as he got into a black SUV to head to Marine One. He teased his return to the White House on Monday afternoon, saying he is "feeling really good".

"Don’t be afraid of Covid," the president tweeted. "Don’t let it dominate your life. We have developed, under the Trump Administration, some really great drugs & knowledge." He added: "I feel better than I did 20 years ago!"

The White House includes at least 14 staffers, top campaign and party officials, Trump advisers and Republican senators who are in close contact with the president and it has reportedly sent them all into panic mode. As per an ABC report, multiple White House sources said there is "a full-blown freak-out" in the administration. "Because we’ve had some cases in the West Wing, more people are working remotely today than in previous days, and that’s the way the process is supposed to work," White House deputy press secretary Brian Morgenstern said Monday, October 6 afternoon.

Meanwhile, as per a Politico report, White House spokesperson Judd Deere insisted the administration is "taking every precaution necessary to protect not only (the president) and the first family, but every staff member working in the complex," saying the White House was following guidelines set by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. "Physical access to the president will be significantly limited and appropriate PPE will be worn when near him," Deere added.

Soon internet was abuzz with talk about what's happening at the White House. MSNBC journalist Kyle Griffin wrote, "Multiple White House sources told ABC News there is 'a full-blown freak-out' in the administration waiting to see who will be next to test positive -- with aides not trusting each other and some trying to find ways to avoid coming into work at all."

While another one tagged DC Health and wrote, "Can y’all do something about all the cases in the White House? Especially for all of the residence staff who are now at risk."

One furious Internet user wrote, "Who doesn’t have COVID19 at the White House? The press secretary did a briefing on Thursday without a mask. These Republicans are recklessly putting so many lives at risk. Enough already. 29 days to #votehimout and make a positive change for our democracy & health of our nation!"

Another wrote, "It would be interesting to know how many of the White House staff members have COVID (butlers, house cleaners, ushers, chefs, secret service, etc.). I feel sorry for them."

As soon as these updates from Trump started coming in, people started reacting to it, as one netizen shared Cain's Covid-19 timeline and wrote: "A humbling Herman Cain/coronavirus timeline: 6/24: Attends Trump rally, maskless 7/2: Tests positive for Covid-19 7/10: Says he’s improving 7/15: Says his doctors seem happy 7/27: Says he’s really getting better 7/30: Dies." Another slammed Trump and wrote, "I cant believe Trump just said 'don’t be afraid of Covid.' That slug would’ve died gasping for air (just like Herman Cain) if he didn’t get first-rate care from a platoon of doctors. What an entitled, irresponsible, a**hole. #TrumpCovidHoax #COTUS."

One Internet user shared Trump's tweet and wrote, "Here comes the story of the Herman Cain." With #COVIDIDIOT hashtag, another one wrote, "Remember when Herman Cain said he felt fine two weeks after testing positive for Covid? He died two weeks later. #COVIDIOT #COVID19."

One Internet user shared Cain's picture from the Tulsa rally and wrote, "Republican Herman Cain died 37 days after the Tulsa superspreader hate rally, only 3 days after claiming he felt great The Rose Garden superspreader event for Amy Coney Barrett was on 9/26 11/1 will be the 37 day from the Rose Garden event. We shall see if this has been a hoax."

One concerned Netizen wrote, "Please say a prayer for all the dedicated White House permanent staff — the butlers, the housekeepers, the janitors—being forced to work in a Covid hot zone. Their lives are being endangered so a weak, enfeebled man can pretend to be strong."
