As the hours tick by, bringing the curtains down on Donald Trump's presidency, southern Florida is preparing for a new chapter on January 20 as pro-Trumpers get ready to welcome the former President home. Trump's White House residency ends at noon soon after his successor, Joe Biden is sworn in as the 46th president. While Trump, after making it vocal and clear he wouldn't be witnessing the event, will be headed to Mar-a-Lago, which is touted to become his new base.

As per a Sun Sentinel report, Joe Budd, president of the Trump Club 45 USA fan club reckoned a massive crowd of supporters will greet Trump when Air Force One lands at Palm Beach International. Budd also added that his supporters from different states are planning to visit him and one of them is a woman from the Gulf coast. "Noon tomorrow can’t come soon enough," South Florida’s US Rep Debbie Wasserman Schultz tweeted, as they eagerly wait to welcome their President home.

One section of the crown is unhappy with the mere thought of South Florida soon becoming a MAGA haven. Some of his new neighbors are distraught about reports that Mar-a-Lago will be used as his residence. On his part, Trump's farewell address on January 19 saw him term himself as a "Washington outsider who built the greatest political movement in the history of our country." He added there was more incoming despite a change in administration. "Now, as I prepare to hand power over to a new administration at noon on Wednesday, I want you to know that the movement we started is only just beginning," Trump said.

While Biden will have his hands full with the inauguration on January 20, Joint Base Andrews will see a send-off ceremony for Trump several hours before Biden's oath-taking. Following the farewell, Trump will make the trip to Palm Beach International. These developments come in as the White House preps to welcome the Bidens. According to a New York Times report, a room-size golfing simulator, a collection of Brioni suits, and the first lady’s matching Louis Vuitton luggage will be the luggage that makes its way out.

Palm Beach International makes preparations as well starting off with restricting traffic on Ocean Boulevard. The site also added that Federal Aviation will put in-flight restrictions around the Palm Beach International airport. The town manager, Kirk Blouin, said he was unaware of how much time Trump plans to spend on the island, but shared his views on the protection the soon-to-be-former-president would receive.

“He is always going to receive some level of protection,” Blouin said. “l would expect it would be scaled back when he is no longer president. That’s standard for all presidents.” The Wall Street Journal cited informed sources to report that Trump spoke with many of his aides last week and would want to call his new party the “Patriot Party”. While this is yet to be confirmed, it is pretty known that Trump still enjoys strong support among the many GOP members.
