Donald Trump Jr slams FB 'bias' for censoring report on BLM co-founder Patrisse Khan-Cullors' $3.2M homes

'Is facebook going to censor and remove all of the false posts about Russian bounties, or do they only do that when you tell the truth about the left?' asked Don Jr

Facebook is once again in the crosshairs of conservative politicians and social media users. The social media giant is currently facing massive backlash over its decision to censor a report on Black Lives Matter (BLM) co-founder Patrisse Khan-Cullors.

On April 10, the New York Post reported that Cullors bought four high-end homes for $3.2 million and on April 15, Facebook users noticed that they were not being allowed to share the story on their platform. Whenever someone attempted to do so, they were greeted with the message that the article "goes against our community standards". The ban limits sharing the story both on Facebook and Messenger apps.

Immediately, critics slammed the social media giant for its pro-liberal 'bias'. Leading the pack is Donald Trump Jr, who had plenty to say. The vocal Republican tweeted, "Is facebook going to censor and remove all of the false posts about Russian bounties, or do they only do that when you tell the truth about the left?"

Was it really conservative bias? The truth seems to be much less nefarious. New York Times reporter Ben Smith tweeted Facebook's response, saying, "Facebook on why it blocked a NY Post article. This all applies to lots of articles on news sites."

It's unclear how this defense applies to the Post's story. All the information published is available in the public domain already. The article also doesn't reveal the exact address of Cullors' homes, simply their value. Likewise, the financial information is also mostly taken from data available in the public domain. Since the report was published, Cullors has received a lot of blowback and criticism, with many trolling her for her lavish lifestyle.

Facebook's defense hasn't gone down well with many conservatives. It is already facing a massive backlash as Republicans have long complained of bias by the social media giant. This isn't the first time a Post story is facing social media bans. In October 2020, both Facebook and Twitter banned a story about Hunter Biden's laptop. At the time, Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey called the ban "unacceptable", but Facebook held its stance.

The latest ban has once again made Facebook a target of conservative ire. Senator Josh Hawley tweeted, "@Facebook censoring the @nypost... where have I seen this before". One person tweeted, "@Facebook you seriously removed an article regarding BLM and her thirty million dollar houses. What is wrong with you your platform. You not judge, jury and executioner."

Another person tweeted, "@Facebook is it OK to share real estate purchases of @DonaldJTrumpJr just not BLM organizer purchases? No bias there, right? @nypost". One person said, "So Twitter bands Project Veritas. Facebook censors the New York Post because of its story regarding BLM. Twitter and Facebook want to make sure facts contrary to the democrat party narrative are silenced"

BLM defended Cullors after the story went public, putting on a large statement via Twitter. The organization said that the report "continues a tradition of terror by white supremacists." BLM denied Cullors used the organization's finances to buy the homes. The money she made came from her deals as a speaker, and money made through her consulting firm.
