When Donald Trump Jr took to Twitter to criticize the Lincoln Project on Sunday, January 31, little did he know how much he would upset social media. After he accused members of the influential anti-Donald Trump group Lincoln Project of being "grifters" and "pedophiles", many on Twitter took it upon themselves to remind him of the reality of the matter and just how wrong he apparently is.

In a series of tweets, the former president's son attacked the Lincoln Project, which was founded by former Republicans who worked against his father's reelection.

"The sanctimonious sickos at @ProjectLincoln love to lecture about 'morality', but if they actually cared about that & not just grifting $$$, then @gtconway3d @TheRickWilson @SteveSchmidtSES @reedgalen would have stopped their predator pedophile partner, instead of protecting him!" he wrote on Twitter, adding, "The Lincoln Project should probably change their name to the Pedophile Project to better reflect their true 'values'."

Trump Jr's tweets came just as the news broke on Lincoln Project's former member and co-founder John Weaver in the wake of allegations that he sent sexual messages to young men. The Lincoln Project in a statement on Sunday called the 61-year-old "a predator, a liar, and an abuser", according to our earlier report.

On January 31, The New York Times reported that the paper had interviewed 21 men who said they had been harassed by Weaver. One of the alleged victims told The Times that he started receiving messages from Weaver when he was only 14. The messages became more pointed after he turned 18.

However, Trump Jr was owned on social media the minute he put his opinions on the networking site. Many responded to Trump Jr reminding him of a time when his father and former President Donald Trump was also involved in similar scandals — even going as far as publicly bragging about them.

"I heard that they have someone who used to walk backstage at beauty pageants in order to see girls who were undressed. Wait, that was someone else. Someone who bragged about it," one tweeted. "Your daddy literally bragged about being able to walk in on naked teenagers in the dressing room," another concurred on the same point. "Area expert on sexual predation and grifting has logged into the conversation," another said.

Many on social media also reminded him of the time when Trump made inappropriate comments about his own daughter. "Why don’t you ask your sister/mommy, Junior. I’m old enough to remember when your sperm donor said on National tv that if she wasn’t his daughter, he’d be dating her," one tweeted, embedding an elaborate video that puts the point succinctly.

At one time, when his then 16-year-old daughter Ivanka was hosting the 1997 Miss Teen USA pageant, he reportedly told the then-Miss Universe, "Don’t you think my daughter’s hot? She’s hot, right?"

In addition, he had also reportedly called his eldest daughter "voluptuous", adding that if she wasn’t his daughter, “perhaps [he’d] be dating her”. "She's actually always been very voluptuous,” Trump had said on 'On the Howard Stern Show' in October 2006. "She's tall, she's almost 6 feet tall and she's been, she's an amazing beauty.”
