Trump Jr calls Prince Harry 'dude in hostage video', says Meghan Markle is not a 'victim' of the royal family
Hours after Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey aired, Donald Trump Jr. reacted to it in a Facebook video where he called the Duke of Sussex a "dude in a hostage video" and laughed off claims that the 'Suits' actress was a victim.
Former President Donald Trump's eldest son posted the video on Twitter with the caption, "My take on the Meghan Markle/Harry hostage video Oprah interview. Have fun and enjoy. When I’m looking for a quiet peaceful life out of the public eye the first thing I’ll do is call Oprah to do an interview." The fact that he admittedly did not watch the video, did not stop him from ranting about it.

He refused to believe that Meghan had not agreed to give the interview purely for clout. “Are we pretending that Meghan Markle isn’t the kind of person that was looking for all of this attention? Because it seems like literally all of her actions in life up until now, we’re about getting that kind of attention for herself," he said in the video. "She just wants it to be good attention. The problem is if you don’t have the personality to do that. It doesn’t always work out as much."
Trump Jr said that he had met the Queen and enjoyed his trip to Buckingham Palace when his father was in the White House and refused to believe Meghan's claims that she did not know what she was getting herself into when she married Harry in 2018. "Are we really pretending that she was like a victim in all of this? That she wasn’t into the press? Has she ever met a camera she probably didn’t love?” he added.
He then went on to insinuate that he thought Harry was the real victim in the scenario. “I actually feel bad for Harry. He’s like a guy in a hostage video. He actually seems like a dude I’d wanna have a beer with. I’m not sure what’s happened to him over the last couple of years," he said, adding that he thought Harry had been “brainwashed into some sort of woke reality.”
Trump Jr also asked Meghan to reply to the claims of her bullying the staff when she was part of the royal family, that Buckingham Palace is now investigating. “But like her getting up there and being the victim of all of this when it seems like there’s people that work for her that say she’s no angel, and honestly guys I don’t know her from Adam,” he said.
“But when I’m watching those videos, when I’m watching this interview I can almost guarantee you that those people probably were verbally abused and treated like crap because she doesn’t seem like the kind of person that treats other people all that well,” he said.
He added: “I get that there’s the woke image that she puts out and all of that stuff and so ill get canceled for saying it but are we really pretending that this seems like this is a nice and humble, warm woman that had no idea what she was getting in to and had no idea there would be press when she was a princess of England. Totally clueless, she’s shocked, shocked. Give me a freaking break.”
His Twitter post drew reactions from social media users, most of whom agreed with him. "My take: Crap and Crisco meet Toe Jam," one of them said, while another commented, "First time I agree with you....and most likely the last." A third wrote, "Exactly!! I'm so over them." Another said, "That may be the first thing you’ve said that I 100% agree with." The next remarked, "I’m sure they need the money." A commenter tweeted, "Classic case of Sussex syndrome."
