Referred to the coronavirus as "China virus", President Donald Trump declared that the virus was 'going to disappear' at a campaign rally, which he insists is a 'press conference', at Trump National Golf Club, Bedminster in New Jersey on Friday, August 7. He declared that young and healthy people can soon return to their work and resume their normal life. While he was talking about employment figures, he proudly declared that his administration has managed to create "1.8 million new jobs in July alone", which according to the President exceeded the predictions.

Many social media users were not only annoyed with his ill-informed comments but also fumed at his supporters who attended the 'press conference'. There were several people at the venue standing in close quarters without wearing masks and following social-distancing. When a reporter pointed that out to Trump towards the end of the press meet, Trump got agitated. He claimed that there were exceptions to wearing masks and cited political gatherings and peaceful protests as some of those exceptions. He then declared that the audience present there were "peaceful protesters of the media". He then circled back to his all-time favorite topic of slamming the 'fake news' and blamed the media for the state of affairs in the country.

After watching Trump's reaction to his supporters and audience not wearing mask, the Internet was left fuming at the President. A user tweeted, "Trump demonstrates once again that he is the cause of the worsening of the pandemic. He gets his Bedminster crowd to cheer the fact that they're violating NJ state social distancing protocols. We won't survive much more of this deadly stupidity."

Another user wrote, "Trump is about to walk into the room... Say hello to Trump's fan club at his Bedminster country club members. Not wearing masks/social distancing KEEP TWEETING THIS PICTURE, FOLKS!"

"I thought people who can afford Bedminster's $350,000 annual membership would be more ... impressive. This is more like the mob waiting outside of Walmart on Black Friday for the doors to open," pointed out a user.

"Trump's paying Bedminster customers boo when a reporter points out that many of them aren't wearing masks. One would think they may have learned from Herman Cain but if they still believe in the diseased maniac, the only thing left is for the chickens to come home to roost," expressed a user.

Another user commented, "I don't wish the virus on anyone but I've reached the point and I wish this virus on everyone attending without a mask. I've officially gone round the bend."

"Nothing says in touch with your base like holding a press conference at your private club The Bedminster Golf Club and Resort in front of a group of 100 members wearing pastel polo shirts and khakis but few masks, sipping wine while you declare the “China virus” is disappearing," observed a user.
