'Doctor Who': All the best Jodie Whittaker moments as the Doctor in Season 11, from her speeches to the way she tackled bad guys

While not many appreciated that the 13th (or more appropriately, 14th) Doctor is a woman, there were several others who welcomed Jodie Whittaker in the role — even though some joked Whittaker was playing David Tennant as the Doctor.

However, as all the Doctors before her, Jodie Whittaker has her own moments in the role. Like David Tennant's "big red button" and Matt Smith's "fezzes are cool" moments, Jodie Whittaker has not yet found that signature dialogue yet, but with what we have seen in Season 11, our hopes are high for her getting those moments herself.

In Series 11, perhaps one of her best defining moments was her impassioned speech in Whittaker's debut episode telling Tzim-Sha ("Tim Shaw) that she is the Doctor. For those who willingly accepted Whittaker, this moment would have inspired chills, to say the least.

The Doctor is great at giving moving speeches and another one of these can be seen in the ninth and penultimate episode of Season 11, where after she tells the Solitract, "I've loved more, seen more, and lost more," she is left alone with it, and it takes the form of a frog.

Only 'Doctor Who' can portray a sentient god-like being as a frog and get away with it and all props to Whittaker for skillfully carrying forward the scene.

The Daleks are classic 'Doctor Who' bad guys and perhaps one of the most iconic along with the Cybermen. Nearly every version of the Doctor has faced off against the Dalek and Jodie Whittaker's Doctor did so in the 2019 New Year's special, 'Resolution'.

For many 'Doctor Who' fans, they felt Whittaker came into her own as the Doctor in this episode and for us, she reminded us of Christopher Eccleston's 9th Doctor a lot.

Of course, one of the aspects that define the Doctor is their companions. In 'Arachnids in the UK', as Graham, Ryan, and Yasmin tell the Doctor that they want to travel with her, she warns them but also welcomes them aboard the TARDIS with the enthusiasm we love.

'Doctor Who' Series 12 will air its first episode on BBC America on January 1st, 2020 at 8/7c.
