Maitland Ward says Spielberg shouldn't worry about daughter's porn career: 'Her name alone will keep her safe'

Last week, 23-year-old Mikaela revealed that she had been posting solo sex videos on PornHub under a pseudonym and was working to get licensed to become an exotic dancer in Nashville

Former Disney star and current adult film actress Maitland Ward has said that Steven Spielberg has nothing to be "embarrassed" about his daughter choosing a career in pornography and allayed his 'concerns' about her foray in the industry.

Ward, 43, who once starred in the show 'Boy Meets World' told TMZ in an interview on Wednesday, February 26, that although she understood that the famous director was privately "concerned" and "embarrassed" over his 23-year-old daughter Mikaela embarking on a journey to become a porn star, it's highly unlikely that she will face anything untoward because of her last name.

"Her name alone will keep her safe and sound," Maitland said, adding that Mikaela was only doing solo performances in front of the camera and had not entered the hardcore stuff yet. Hence, there was still time for Steven to fret over it in the future. But even then, Maitland thought that "she'll be fine" and her father had nothing to worry about.

According to the adult film actress, "People will come around to the porn scene" and more will join the adult entertainment industry if society normalizes porn by talking about it freely.

Last week, Mikaela revealed that she had been posting solo sex videos on PornHub under a pseudonym and was working to get licensed to become an exotic dancer in Nashville. She added that she was a “sexual creature” who “got really tired of not being able to capitalize on my body.”

At the time she claimed that her parents were “not upset” and even “intrigued” by her career choice. “As Mikaela said, Steven and Kate are nothing but supportive of her, as they are with all their children," a source told the New York Post.

However, an anonymous friend of her told the same outlet that it was not the case. “Outwardly, Steven and Kate — who are the most evolved parents in the world and love their kids beyond all measure — have always been supportive of Mikaela and try to understand her,” the family friend told Page Six. “Obviously, though, they’re embarrassed by her sudden public admission of entry into the sex worker world.”

Steven, 73, and Kate Capshaw, 66, have seven kids between them. Kate has 43-year-old Jessica Capshaw from her marriage to Robert Capshaw. Steven also shares son, Max, 34, with his previous wife, Amy Irving. Steven and Kate went on to have three children — Sasha, 29, and Destry, 23, and son Sawyer, 27 — after marriage. They also adopted Theo, 31, and Mikaela.

“Nothing can hurt Steven Spielberg’s immaculate reputation, nor Kate’s, but they’re worried about how [Mikaela’s revelation] looks for their other kids, who are trying to be supportive but who are also embarrassed,” said the family friend. “This certainly isn’t how they were raised.”
