'STOP making everything sexual': Disney's ‘Strange World’ slammed for exposing kids to 'openly gay agenda'

'STOP making everything sexual, its unbelievable,' a user said about the film that features a 16-year-old gay character, Ethan Clade

Disney's first queer animation film ‘Strange World’, which hit the theatres on November 23, is facing a backlash from parents for forcing sexual preferences on children. Slamming the content of the movie, many called it "completely inappropriate" and questioned the purpose of pushing sexual preferences in a children's movie.

Directed by Don Hall and Qui Nguyen, the film is centered on three men in the Clade family. Jaeger Clade (voiced by Dennis Quaid) who loves exploring, fighting monsters; his son, Searcher Clade (voiced by Jake Gyllenhaal) and Searcher’s 16-year-old son, Ethan Clade (voiced by Jaboukie Young-White), who is openly gay. Although many welcomed the film, there were others who were not convinced by Disney's content. Rotten Tomatoes reviewer wrote, as quoted by DailyMail, “If I want to teach my children about sex and or sexual preferences at 7 and 8 I would do it in my home. I don’t need a Disney movie to help me out with it. STOP making everything sexual, its unbelievable.”

One of them said, "@motionpictures movies like #StrangeWorld @strangeworld need to be labeled.Parents need to know & have right to control what their kids see!completely inappropriate content for kids!can't express how upset I am with @Disney right now! Gay/sexual content has no biz in kids movies." Another said, "Just took my daughter to see #StrangeWorld and the whole openly gay agenda didn’t have to be pushed so hard. What is the purpose of pushing sexual preference in a kids movie. I think the story line between father and son was great. Disney please stop #wokenarrative #wokedisney."

The criticism continued with a user commenting, "Disney is known for this dirty trick of barely/poorly marketing a movie that to "prove" that certain movies movies don't make money. They did it to Treasure Planet when moving away from 2D animation, and now to Strange World to prove the gays aren't a good financial investment." While one more wrote, "Took the kids to the movies today to watch a Disney cartoon called “Strange World”. Within 10 minutes of the movie, my 10 year old son said “Dad, I have no desire to watch this movie. Can we leave?” We left. The leaders at @Disney have forgotten who the PAYING customer is." A parent tweeted, "Watched this today, w/ 8 yrs son and his friend. During the WHOLE movie thinking "WTF?!?" On the other hand, one of many requested, "@Disney can we go back to kids movies vs pushing ideology… movies should be about escapism… not more of the news!"
