Spoilers for 'Dirty John: The Betty Broderick Story'

Episode 4 of 'Dirty John: The Betty Broderick Story' titled 'More To It Than Fun' could be called, for lack of better words, 'the gaslighting episode.' This is because the entirety of the episode chronicles Dan Broderick's (Christian Slater) affair with Linda Kolkena (Rachel Keller) as we see him prepare to divorce his wife Betty Broderick (Amanda Peet). While Dan is an inherent socially manipulative being, Linda interestingly enough pissed more people off in this episode.

"As much as I don’t like Dan, I think i like Linda even less. Poor #bettybroderick #dirtyjohn," tweeted a user with another one replying, "Linda is acting like he’s not a married man. #dirtyjohn." The last episode saw Betty hear Dan call Linda "beautiful" and so Betty had asked Dan to "get rid of her or get out of the house." But, the end of the episode saw Dan telling Betty, "I pay for your life. So, if anyone is going to be getting out, it's you." The dominant partner of the marriage was already determined in Episode 3, and Episode 4 chronicles Dan's romance with Linda as he gaslights Betty into thinking she's crazy. The episode shows us the events of over two years from October 1983 when Linda and Dan kissed to October 1985 where Dan has already filed for divorce. He tells Betty, "You were right the whole time," after she asked him if he had been sleeping with Linda. "HES MARRIED LINDA Save those tears #DirtyJohn," tweeted a fan referring to an incident in December 1984 -- 14 months into the affair where Linda felt insecure crying because she feels shame, her dad wouldn't be able to look at her. Of course, this was to insinuate that Dan should leave Betty asap.

Linda was first hired with no skills; she wasn't able to even type, thus making a horrid candidate as a paralegal. But the episodes show her to learn and do better wanting to impress Dan as she watched him every day at work. Linda did not have a care in the world as she spoke of her dates with Dan to office employees, not paying any mind to the fact that she may be ruining a family. Not that Dan had done anything to stop it, in fact, when his secretary Colleen had approached him about how Linda was quite vocal about her life with Dan, he replied, "I have been miserable for years and I am doing this the way I want to do it. It's not your business." "Oh this girl Linda plays mind games just like Dan does...those two narcissists are perfect for each other! #dirtyjohn #bettybroderick," tweeted a viewer with another one tweeting, "Dan: "It's none of your business." Translation: "The rules do not apply to Linda because I'm f**king her." Total narcissist. Glad the receptionist called her out. #DirtyJohn"

"Evidently the thirst was real with Linda. Ho. #DirtyJohn #BettyBroderick," tweeted another user. To some extent, it is understandable that people don't like Linda considered she focused on her selfish needs rather than the consequences of her actions. "Linda completely in the wrong in this all too. She knowingly wrecked that home. How embarrassing for her. #dirtyjohn," tweeted a viewer. Some Twitter uses paid no mind that this is an actual true crime story and that Betty did kill Linda and Dan, as they tweeted, "Ok Linda. It’s ok. Go on and kiss Betty’s husband. She’s got something for dat a**. #DirtyJohn #BettyHBO," while another tweeted, "This manipulative whore...Linda #DirtyJohn"

'Dirty John: The Betty Broderick Story' airs Tuesdays on the USA Network at 10 pm ET.
