LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: After the release of 'Avengers: Endgame', the hot topic of discussion for everyone was whether or not they agreed with Thanos' plan of 'snapping' away half of the universe's population. While most didn't agree, some did, especially environmentalists. One of them is 'Avatar' director, James Cameron, who completely agrees with the ultimate idea of Thanos, the deviant warlord from the moon Titan.

'Avatar: The Way of Water' paints the message of environmental positivity through its beautiful storyline, which then also brings up the idea of Thanos' real agenda. Even though his actions were quite disastrous, he wanted to ultimately 'save' the universe with a snap of his fingers. James Cameron seems like he believes in being a person who does his part to save the planet, and his agreement with the strongest villain in the MCU only confirms this fact.

'Titanic' turns 25! Director James Cameron to re-release iconic movie on Valentine's week

James Cameron wanted a vegan set on 'Avatar: The Way of Water'

The 'Titanic' director talked about everything from turning his entire set vegan for 'Avatar 2' to relating his idea of saving the world with Thanos' plan in 'Avengers: Endgame' in an interesting conversation with Time magazine. “I can relate to Thanos,” Cameron said. “I thought he had a pretty viable answer. The problem is nobody is going to put up their hand to volunteer to be the half that has to go,” he said in the interview.

Thanos' plan was an evil one according to the Avengers who did everything in their power to save the world. But the movie makes you really think about the consequences of their actions. The villain thought about the world as a whole ecosystem that had to be sustainable to survive while the superheroes only thought about their lost friends and family. But, in the end, even though the strongest MCU villain thought his heart was in the right place, it was wrong of him to think that he could play god and swiftly wipe out half of the population from the world.

Why is Thanos an interesting villain?

The irony of this narrative is quite strong as the Titan's motivation was at an all-time high in 'Avengers: Infinity War'. While Avengers were still the heroes of the narrative, it was quite invigorating to see an interesting supervillain, who was as captivating as the protagonists. The idea that makes Thanos stand out from the crowd of other supervillains is he was convinced his idea to save the universe would work and he completely believed in his plan and was not thinking of how he would benefit. The greed present in most villains was missing in this 'super-villain'.
