MOSCOW, IDAHO: The Internet has been as involved as the police in the investigation into the brutal November 13 quadruple murders at the University of Idaho. The latest point of contention among these online sleuths seems to be the speculation about whether the killer revisited the murder house after the crime.
A Reddit poll revealed that most don't believe the killer returned to the crime scene - unless "he’s a criminal mastermind." One such user wrote, “Nah I don’t think so. Too much heat.” “If the killer is following the investigation, he is absolutely aware of the high security standards at the crime scene and the reporters whose [sic] are literally trying to ask everyone in the neighborhood, also filming the whole day and night long,” another added.

“I have a feeling that he/she didn’t want to be seen especially since X fought back which would mean they would most likely have marks and bruises on them and don’t want it to be noticed,” someone claimed. However, not everyone concurred, as one person pointed out, “No idea but I know that usually killers who know their victims attend funerals and memorials of their victims to avoid being suspicious and I really think that it’s someone who knew them well.”
“I highly doubt it if it’s a stranger. If it’s someone closer to them then they may be expected to be around certain things. It’s just so hard to say because it could be anyone from random stranger to closer friend,” another added. Someone wrote, “I think yes if he’s hiding in plain sight and it’s someone that they know. It would be weird to avoid that steet he walks down all the time. Others might be suspicious.” “Well, one of the main suspects lived next door. But he blew outta town in a hurry. If you don't know who I'm talking about you haven't been paying much attention,” yet another user remarked.
The poll has received votes from over 5k Reddit users so far. Kaylee Goncalves, 21, Madison Mogen, 21, Xana Kernodle, 20, and Ethan Chapin, 20, were found murdered in their rental house close to the university on November 13. The case has remained a mystery ever since, and both the police and the FBI have so far failed to crack the case. Authorities are also appealing to anyone with information to come forward. Anyone with information about the crime or a tip or a suspicious person in the area is asked to call 208-883-7180 or email tipline@ci.moscow.id.us.
