The Derek Chauvin case came to a conclusion within just a month. The former Minneapolis police officer was found guilty of second-degree unintentional murder, third-degree murder and second-degree manslaughter. A reportedly racially diverse jury of seven women and five men in the Midwestern city of Minneapolis took less than two days to announce the guilty verdict.

Chauvin now faces a potential 40-year jail sentence for the death of George Floyd. While the country celebrated Chauvin's conviction, some noticed the former cop's reaction to the verdict. It was reportedly stone-cold as he had no remorse. The verdict was considered to be a small step in the long battle towards police reform. While the guilty verdict does not bring Floyd back to life, it is said to be an important step towards accountability. However, many are still wondering, does Derek Chauvin himself feel accountable for Floyd's death?

Many people on social media are of the opinion that the answer is no. Following the announcement of the guilty verdict in Chauvin's trial, many users were quick to notice his reaction. Chauvin reportedly showed no reaction to the verdict, none. Meanwhile, people weren't shy to call a spade a spade. "Derek Chauvin leaves for jail as he came into the courtroom. A stone cold killer with no ounce of remorse. #GeorgeFloyd #JusticeForGeorgeFloyd," a user tweeted.

Chauvin's lack of emotion was not a secret from the public eye. "Derek Chauvin has NEVER shown ANY remorse for his actions... ...he hasn’t shown ANY regret or emotion towards George Floyd’s family or even issued an apology... EVER... ...just let that sink in .....NEVER EVER ... ...just how COLD is that? ... #ChauvinTrial," one user tweeted.

"#DerekChauvin lacked emotion, STILL so cold w/ no remorse & sadly no regret. No regard for humanity, it’s the audacity for me! Thank God we were able to see #JusticeForGeorgeFloyd just as we saw him take his last breath! #ChauvinIsGuilty #GuiltyAF #ChauvinTrialOnHLN #GeorgeFloyd," one user tweeted. Another user deemed it unreal tweeting, "The image that is burned into my psyche during the reading of the verdict was how lacking any sort of human emotion Derek Chauvin showed. It was cold, lacking any sort of remorse, and just plain creepy."

The fact that Chauvin did not show any remorse and even refused to apologize to Floyd's family or even offer condolence was something that made social media users upset. "The fact that Derek Chauvin still has that stone cold look on his face when he murdered George Floyd, says a lot... he's guilty with no REMORSE! #DerekChauvinTrial," one tweeted.

"Justice served for #GeorgeFloyd Not one ounce of remorse from #DerekChauvin while the verdict was read. Stone cold killer," a user said. One said, "Thank goodness justice has been served. I hope and pray that Derek Chauvin will repent and show remorse and possibly receive forgiveness one day. Police can not just recklessly kill people for frivolous reasons!!!" Another said, "there was no sign of remorse in him. please. their closing arguments are hypothetical and it doesn’t make sense at all. space aliens can honestly abduct him istg. May George Floyd rest in power while derek chauvin rot in hell."
