DNC 2020: Is Tracee Ellis Ross a better host than Eva Longoria? Fans say she looks like she's from 'Star Wars'
With her majestic outlook and her sharp voice, Tracee Ellis Ross began Day 2 of the Democratic National Convention and won many hearts as she started trending on social media in a positive light for facilitating the day's live telecast.
Following an opening keynote address from the party's rising stars, the Emmy nominee and 'Black-ish' actor kicked off the night with a speech about the importance of leadership and Kamala Harris' nomination for vice president. "Tonight is all about leadership," she began. "This unprecedented moment calls for leadership. Steady, inclusive leadership. Driven by people who understand that our democracy is based on the value of each and every one of us being treated with dignity and respect. Leaders who respond to the needs of hard-working Americans who, right this minute, are unable to pay rent, put food on the table, and keep their loved ones safe."
Looking at her commendable style of speaking and her confidence, people started comparing her with Eva Longoria who hosted Day 1 of the convention. One twitter user who seemed to have been following the live coverage commented, "I find Tracee Ellis Ross's speaking style better and more down to earth than Eva Longoria," while another user simply said, "Tracee Ellis Ross > Eva Longoria," and a third said "I like Tracee Ellis Ross's hosting better than Eva Longoria's so far."
The host's powerful rhetoric was shared all over social media. "As a Black woman, I find myself at a crucial intersection in American politics. For far too long, Black female leadership has been utilized without being acknowledged or valued, but we are turning the tide. Hello, Kamala," one user shared her video and said, "Queen!"
