Woman slammed for claiming Delta only offered her an interview after she applied as White woman
Delta Airlines, like many major corporations, is no stranger to discrimination controversies. The company inexplicably found itself in another one on March 14, after a Black TikToker claimed she was rejected for a job because of her race. However, it didn't have to defend itself, with many TikTok users doing that instead, and slamming the TIkToker for "reaching".
On March 2, one Black woman claimed she was moved from her seat to give two White women "more space", leading to a discrimination lawsuit. In September 2020 though, the airlines did ban a racist White woman who harassed a Black flyer and upgraded the Black woman to first-class to compensate. In January 2019, Delta was also accused of discriminating against a deaf couple from California, who wanted to sit together on a flight.

In contrast to those claims, the one made by TIkToker @ginaa_banks_ seems to hold much less weight. She uploaded her video on March 14, making some very serious allegations against the airlines, but found little support from the community. Despite that, she defiantly signed off with "My lived experiences are mine to share. Y’all can fight in the comments idc. I know my truth & stand by it. Good day to y’all all."
Delta accused of not hiring Black woman
Interestingly, the TikToker, who has been identified as Regina De’Chabert, says she's a certified travel agent on TikTok. However, LinkedIn and Pinterest accounts in her name indicate she is an esthetician and has also worked as a hostess and an entertainer. In fact, her LinkedIn profile has no mention whatsoever of a travel-related certification. She also appears to run her own beauty business, named Gina Elaine Beauty in New York.
In her short video, De'Chabert says "Applying to delta for a flight attendant job for 5 years & gets denied. Applys as a white women, finally received a 2nd interview email." The TikTok has quickly gone viral, generating over 42k likes and 810 comments. She didn't go into detail about her applications, and briefly responded to critics with a few more TikTok videos. However, it appears her story found little sympathy, with many slamming De'Chabert.

"I made it to the F2F with Delta and CJO with another legacy and I’m a black woman. Let’s not reach," one person commented. Another mocked, "the fact that you cant spell applies and used women instead of woman is enoughg to deny you." A third trolled, "Girl the hell are you talking about. My mom just got hired for delta as a black women. Maybe it’s just you they don’t want lmao." Another claimed, "I changed my first name from Yanisha to Amber on my resume and heard back from all the companies I previously applied to!!"
A few users did back De'Chabert, leaving comments like "Smells like a discrimination lawsuit in the making" and "that when u sue them for discrimination." In one video, De'Chabert slammed her critics and said "just because you got the job, it doesn't negate my experience." Delta has so far not commented on her video, and its unclear what the status of De'Chabert's application is at the time of reporting.
