Debra Rosenquist: NY teacher ‘manipulated’ 5th grader girl into changing gender without parents’ consent that led to suicidal thoughts
TERRYVILLE, NEW YORK: Parents of a fifth-grade girl are suing their daughter's school teacher after they found out she has been manipulating their child into changing gender without her parents' consent. It was only after the girl, 9, drew suicidal images that her parents found out about New York teacher Debra Rosenquist's antics.
The parents of the little girl claimed Rosenquist called the fifth-grader 'Leo' and used he/him pronouns in class in October 2021, the lawsuit claims, according to Daily Mail. Shockingly, the parents of the little girl claim that when they reported the teacher to the school, the school was already aware of Rosenquist's actions and deliberately turned a blind eye.

What really happened at Terryville Road Elementary School?
The nine-year-old child, who was taught by Debra Rosenquist at Terryville Road Elementary School in Long Island, identifies as a girl but was called by a boy's name and given male pronouns in class. After a few months, in January 2022, the parents found their child drawing a picture of a suicidal girl with the words "I wanna kill myself," who told them she was being called male pronouns in class, reported Daily Mail. Worried parents met with a district psychologist who told them the child was confused about her gender identity. However, the parents who were supportive of their daughter exploring her identity, in fact, believed she was being manipulated into doing so.
Furthermore, the parents decided to look into Rosenquist and found out that on the day when the school asked pupils to wear blue to honor the two police officers who were fatally shot, the teacher turned up wearing a Black Lives Matter t-shirt. The parents also discovered the teacher was reading LGBT books that were not on the school district's curriculum and encouraging students to "try being gay" even if they were not. Subsequently, horrified parents also found the teacher had been allegedly reported for physical abuse, but no action was taken because of her position as a tenured teacher.
'Try being gay!'
During a parent meeting in February 2022, Superintendent Jennifer J Quinn and the school's principal Annemarie V Sciove both admitted to the parents they were aware of the teacher passing the woke mentality in the classroom. The suit states, "Parents of Rosenquist's former students stated that Rosenquist went beyond the District's curriculum and taught her students about transgender individuals and suggested that the kids 'try being gay' or try being a boy (if they were a girl) or a girl (if they were a boy.)" "Rosenquist pursued her own agenda outside the curriculum, which included persuading her 5th-grade students to try ‘being gay’ or being another gender even when they were not," reported the source.
"To further her agenda, Rosenquist read and provided her students graphic books about gender and sexuality which were not on the curriculum." After a "superficial" investigation was launched into the situation, the child was removed from Rosenquist's class and moved to another. Sadly, she was bullied by her peers there, who claimed to be confused about her identity. "Literally tho what is she??? girl??? boy??? one day her name is Leo and one day her name is A LIKE WHAT IS IT??!!!!!' 'Idk what to call it,"' read a comment, according to the source.
The parents' attorney said, "Debra Rosenquist manipulated a pre-teen female into changing her gender identity when the child did not feel any inclination to do so." "The parents did not learn about what Rosenquist was forcing upon their daughter until it was discovered that the child had suicidal ideations," attorney Debra L Wabnik, told the source. "The psychological and social damage Rosenquist caused this child and her family was immense. Incredibly, the District still has Rosenquist in the classroom where she can similarly harm other innocent children."
