Australian heartthrob Hugh Jackman was on 'The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon' along with his wife Deborra-Lee Furness recently. The couple, who have been married since 1996, joined the late-night show host for his at-home edition.

A few days ago, Fallon had revealed his engagement story to wife Nancy Juvonen and now it was Jackman who reminisced his first date with his wife of 24 years.

No one knew that Furness turned down a chance to rock it out with Sir Mick Jagger to hang out with Jackman. It was their very first date together and that is what left Jackman thinking that she's special right from the get-go.

Furness shunned the Rolling Stones rocker after he invited her for a fun outing while she was in the middle of her date with Jackman.

Speaking alongside his wife during the episode, Jackman recalled: "So the first night, we started our relationship... where our relationship kicked off, I was having a dinner party. We were working together on a TV series and I had a dinner party with Deb and 12 others."

"Deb got a phone call halfway through dinner. We're in Melbourne, Australia, and the phone rings and Deb picks it up and everyone goes quiet. This is, we're talking '94. Mobile phones were new. So everyone goes quiet and Deb's talking, and she's like 'Who? Hang on a sec', and then she says 'Mick Jagger's in a limo outside your house, and wants to go and party with me'."

Furness clarified that it was her friend who wanted her to go to this party, "My girlfriend wanted me to come party with Mick Jagger."

The 51-year-old Jackman was expecting the actress and producer to go to the party and mentioned that it took some time for him to believe that Furness had really chosen to stay with him, forgoing a chance to party with Jagger.

He said: ''She goes, 'You can tell Mick I'm having dinner with Hugh Jackman.' I went, 'Whoa'. Part of me was thrilled, and part of me was like 'You should have gone'."

Things only went better for the two after the dinner date for the then newly minted couple who recently celebrated 24 years of marital bliss. They have a son, Oscar, aged 19 and a daughter named Ava, aged 14.
