'Death and Other Details' Episode 2 Takeaway: What is Tripp Collier hiding?

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: 'Death and Other Details', a new murder mystery series, premiered on January 16, 2024, on Hulu.
Created by Mike Weiss and Heidi Cole McAdams, the latest series features Mandy Patinkin as Rufus Coteworth, the world's greatest detective who finds himself on a luxury cruise when a locked-room murder takes place.
The pilot episode set a strong premise for the mystery to be unraveled. Rufus is assisted by Imogene Scott (Violett Beane), with whom he had an encounter many years ago when he was hired to solve her mother's murder case. However, he abruptly quit the case, leaving Imogene heartbroken.
The two join hands to find the killer of Rufus' assistant Dave, disguised as Keith Trubitsky (Michael Gladis), while trying to dig the old graves.
Tripp Collier threatens Keith Trubitsky
Tripp Collier (Jack Cutmore-Scott) is seen as one of the main suspects in Keith's murder. Rufus learns that Tripp had a motive to kill Keith as he pulled out of the former's venture.
Upset with the cessation of the deal, Tripp argued with Keith where he threatened to kill him. Several people on the deck were a witness to Tripp's outburst.
Tripp hides details about the night of the murder
During the interrogation, Rufus finds out that after stabbing Keith, the killer secreted themselves back in the bar cart to be wheeled away from the crime scene.
One of the housekeepers tells Rufus that a bar cart was ordered from Tripp's room on the night of the murder. She goes on to reveal that it was a woman who called from that room.
As Rufus calls Tripp for questioning, he says that he was wasted in his room when the murder happened. However, he dodges the question when he is asked to name the woman who accompanied him that night.
The episode further shows Rufus sharing his revelations that Tripp was having an affair with Governor Alexandra Hochenverg (Tamberla Perry) and she was the one who called the bar cart to Keith's room. After the interrogation, the Governor confronts Tripp and breaks up with him
Is Sunil Bhandari hiding something?
Sunil Bhandari (Rahul Kohli), the luxury cruise ship owner, comes out as a man who isn't as simple as he appears to be!
The doubts arise when he comes to Rufus and says that he forgot to mention his encounter with Keith. He goes on to reveal that Keith was trying to enter his office on the first day.
It becomes more evident that he is hiding some secrets as Rufus finds a hidden locker and accuses Sunil of murder while cleverly questioning him.
While existing Rufus' interrogation room, he gives a mysterious side look, which builds more anticipation around the character.
The episode ends with Interpol Agent Hikde Erikson (Linda Emond) landing on the cruise to take over the murder investigation.
