CHICAGO, ILLINOIS: As thrill escalates in Apple TV+'s 'Dark Matter', fans are buzzing with theories about what might happen next. With six episodes released and three yet to come, the series continues to keep its audience on the edge of their seats.
So far, fans have been wondering about Jason Dessen's (Joel Edgerton) fate in the series. Now adding to the chaos is the recent unfortunate incident with Ryan Holder (Jimmi Simpson).
Where is Ryan Holder in 'Dark Matter' Episode 6?
In 'Dark Matter' Episode 6, Ryan Holder confronts Jason 2 after Daniela Dessen (Jennifer Connelly) shows him the empty ampoules.
When Ryan questions the application of the drug Jason 2 alleges to have successfully made, the latter takes him to the box and gives a tour of the liminal space.
Jason 2 then takes Ryan to an alternate reality that appears magnificent. While Ryan is busy adoring the beauty of this world, Jason 2 takes his phone, claiming to click his picture, but instead walks towards the box.
Jason 2 is aware that Ryan has cracked Jason 2's secret and could be a threat to his existence in Reality 1. And therefore, he plans to leave Ryan in another reality, from where he could never return.
To further ensure that Ryan and Jason 1 never return, Jason 2 seals the box.
Fans speculate Ryan Holder's fate in 'Dark Matter'
'Dark Matter' Episode 6 ends on a cliffhanger, leaving fans to wonder about Ryan Holder's fate. With no access to pills, he won't be able to switch between realities.
However, fans speculate that Ryan still holds a chance to return to Reality 1. A Reddit user wrote, "He has almost all of the necessary knowledge to make the drug. Jason explained him how the cube works and he is in a functioning and technologically advanced world. There is a possibility to go back home."
As several other fans suggested the same, someone asserted that "he still seemed to be missing some of the solutions to how to make it."
As a resolution to the issue, a fan said that Ryan "might team up with the local Jason, and build the box-drug-corridor thing in the progressive world."
At this point, it's hard to figure out what Blake Crouch, creator of 'Dark Matter' has in store for us. Ryan will likely have an existential crisis in this new world, especially since another version of himself would be living here and he couldn't just walk in and take over his life.
Only if he succeeds, he might be able to develop the drug or grab one (if it has already been made in this reality) to return to his home. Even in that case, another obstacle awaits as Jason 2 has sealed the box, making it impossible for anyone to enter this reality.
