Who is Daniel Diaz? Father walks in on teen YouTuber putting make-up on, embraces him
An emotional video has gone viral, warming hearts across the interweb. It shows a father embracing his son after finding him putting on makeup in his room.
Daniel Diaz, a teen YouTuber, came out to his father after the latter stumbled upon him using makeup products. Instead of becoming enraged at what he saw, Diaz's father embraced him and told him he loved him no matter what. The clip was shared on YouTube and TikTok, where it went viral and garnered millions of views and likes.

In the video, the teenager was seen recording himself putting on makeup. Ten minutes into the session, he heard a knock on the door and it's his father. Diaz, embarrassed for his dad to see him wearing makeup, turned down the lights so his face was not visible. The father entered the room and asked him in Spanish what he's doing, to which he said he's making a video. The parent subsequently turned on the light and saw his son in make-up, Pride.com reported.
“I was sooooo embarrassed,” Diaz wrote on the video to capture the moment he was exposed. However, his father calmly walked up to him and asked, "Is this what you want to do, Papa?” calling his teen son by his nickname. The teenager, still embarrassed, told his father to ignore it; but he told his son it's ok. "Because if this is what you want to do, you’ll be okay. I’ll be okay with you,” he said before hugging him.
“I love you, Papa,” the father continued, reaffirming his love. The apparently routine make-up video blossomed into a heartwarming father-son moment. “I love you. If that makes you happy, do it. Do it, but do it good. OK, Papa. I’m always with you. I won’t let you down in anything. Be happy,” he told his son.
The comments section was inundated with positive words for the supportive father. "Dads like him deserve everything mannn🙏🏼🥺 literally had me in tears🥺🥺" one wrote. "You are so incredibly lucky! So many of us Latinos wish we had a dad like yours! He is GOLD!!!!!!!!!" a comment read. "Yo, this one hit different. Your dad is the kind of dad the world needs. If your dad riding with you nobody else's opinion matters," another added.
"The teen years can be a challenging time for young people and their parents," the CDC states on its website, citing studies that found how "parents play an important role in shaping the health of their LGB teen."
"When LGB teens share their sexual orientation, they may feel rejected by important people in their lives, including their parents. This rejection can negatively influence an LGB teen’s overall well-being," the guidance continues. "On the other hand, a positive family environment, with high levels of parental support and low levels of conflict, is associated with LGB youth who experience healthy emotional adjustment. These teens are less likely to engage in sexual risk behaviors and be involved in violence," it adds.
