Dad-of-three comes up with a quirky way to stop school from controlling what daughter eats
NEWPORT, WALES: A father-of-three opened up about how he dealt with one of his daughter’s teachers for calling her out on her food choices. Ross Hunt found out that his daughter’s teachers had tried to control what she ate at school and so, he took it upon himself to address the issue, in the quirkiest way possible. He took to TikTok to explain how he grew irritated by the way school staffers had taken to handling lunchtimes with his daughter Isabelle.
Hunt said that the teachers insisted that she eat her vegetables and sandwiches before she started with her sweet treats, an insistence that did not go down well with both father and daughter. Annoyed by the teachers’ pushing his daughter into it, he stuck a note onto her lunch bag that read, “Welcome to Isabelle’s lunch box: We are aware of the contents of this box and are happy for Isabelle to eat whatever she wants.” While it may seem to have a sharp undertone to it, the message was received by many on the video-sharing platform, who shared their own stories of how schools tried to control their children’s eating habits, more often from their own lunchboxes.

‘Step away from the lunch box!’
In the TikTok video, Hunt had said that he was "irritated" by how one of the in-charges at Isabelle’s school had been telling her how to eat, leading to the child being put off at the idea of taking her own lunch. “It’s alright if you eat the chocolate cake the school gives you, but if you put one in their lunchbox, they go ‘oh no you shouldn’t have done that,'" he said. He added another note to the little girl’s lunch bag. This one read, "Step away from the lunch box, you nosey f*****g a** bandit!”
He tempted to send junk food just to annoy teachers
With the continued interference in his daughter’s lunchtime, Hunt goes admitted he was ready to “ram (the lunchbox) full of sweets” but added a sandwich, carrot sticks, an apple, a pear, a small bag of crisps, rainbow drop lollies and a chocolate egg. He then went on to emphasize his point once more, saying, “In short, stop telling kids what they should and shouldn’t eat, let the f*****g parents decide!”
