Crowd Control 2.0: 5 features of the game-changing interactive streaming interface
Video games stand out from other types of entertainment because they are interactive, but it hasn't stopped a cottage industry of content producers from gaining millions of fans by making static gaming videos on websites like YouTube. The largest extension of tech startup Warp World's commitment to enhancing engagement in the world of streaming is Crowd Control, an app that was introduced in October 2018.
This week, Warp World released the Crowd Control 2.0 open beta, with the intention of officially retiring the Twitch-only version 1.0 on June 1. GameRant spoke with Warp World CEO Matthew "Jaku" Jakubowski about Crowd Control 2.0's new capabilities and how they will impact the adoption of new games and live events going forward. Here's what we know.

Crowd Control 2.0's new features
1. Originally, Crowd Control only supported three games, as of 2.0's release, it now supports over 110.
2. Growing the Crowd Control library has been Warp World's top focus, despite the fact that the company also worked on projects like the Animal Crossing New Horizons support utility Turnip Exchange.
3. With the release of 2.0, the system has a fresh look to make it simpler for new users to use, but also underlying technologies designed for broad compatibility.
4. Crowd Control 1.0 makes use of Twitch-only modifications, but with a secret Bits-to-Coin conversion that guarantees Warp World can reimburse customers whose effects don't work.
5. The Coins are carried over in two buckets in the 2.0 build, one of which is connected to the Twitch channels where Bits may be bought and the other of which acts as a universal wallet for cross-platform transactions.
Support catalog
Jaku claimed that despite being cross-platform, there won't be any game restrictions; gamers may play Crowd Control Super Metroid on Twitch just as readily as they do on Facebook or TikTok, as per Game Rant. However, Crowd Control 2.0 strives for "platform independence." Effects may be exclusive depending on the extensions offered at each site.
In fact, Jaku reportedly anticipates that as Warp World develops its documentation and gains developer support, the list of compatible games will expand. Though Jaku said the team considers the advantages and disadvantages of something like Valorant where its online nature and anti-cheat software could lead to bans, popularity is a significant factor in what gets adopted.
