'Crisis on Infinite Earths' could introduce a new Superboy; son of Tom Welling's Superman and Erica Durance's Lois Lane

'Crisis' will be introducing older versions of Clark and Lois than the ones we're familiar with from 'Smallville', picking up ten years after their last appearance on television. During that decade-long absence, a lot of big moments could have gone by including the birth of their son

DC's Superboy is one of the publisher's most popular comic book characters, so it's pretty surprising he hasn't had a proper live-action debut yet. There are actually two different Superboys in the comics (three if you count Superman in his boyhood years), one being Conner Kent, a clone of Superman, and the other one being Jonathan "Jon" Kent, the son of Clark Kent and Lois Lane.

The Conner Kent Superboy has been a very popular part of the animated series 'Young Justice'. DC Universe's 'Titans' series will be introducing the first proper live-action version of the character in its second season, played by Joshua Orpin.

While Conner has had his fair share of time in the spotlight, his younger "brother" Jon is yet to get a chance at a live-action debut, which is understandable considering the character was only introduced in 2015.

However, The CW could give Jon a chance to appear in live-action during the upcoming 'Crisis on Infinite Earths' crossover event. The landmark five-episode crossover will be bringing in a number of popular characters from DC's television history, including Tom Welling's Clark Kent Superman and Erica Durance's Lois Lane from 'Smallville'.

'Crisis' will be introducing older versions of Clark and Lois than the ones we're familiar with from 'Smallville', picking up ten years after their last appearance on television. During that decade-long absence, a lot of big moments are bound to have gone by and it is entirely likely that we could be introduced to the beloved couple in the role of parents.

In the short time that Jon has been around in the comics, he's already proven himself to be quite the hero and garnered a dedicated fan-following. This means that his introduction to the Arrowverse, even if only in a guest role, would definitely be well-received by fans of the character.

'Crisis on Infinite Earths' will begin with an episode of 'Supergirl' December 8 and have one episode each on 'Arrow', 'Batwoman' and 'The Flash' before ending over on 'Legends of Tomorrow' January 14, 2020.
