MIAMI, FLORIDA: Courtney Clenney, an OnlyFans model who fatally stabbed her boyfriend Christian Obumseli on April 3, 2022, and was arrested for second-degree murder with a deadly weapon on August 10, 2022, is now being sued by his family for funeral costs and other expenses. In the new lawsuit, the estate accused Clenney, stating, "On or about April 3, 2022, Christian Obumseli, deceased, was fatally stabbed while within the subject premises within One Paraiso." The estate accused the building's owner and security team of failing to protect the subject premises's residents and invitees, including Obumseli, from "reasonably foreseeable criminal attacks."

The lawsuit stated that Clenney "created and/or allowed to be created said dangerous conditions" and Obumseli "deceased, of the existence of said dangerous conditions; or in the alternative, did allow said dangerous conditions to exist for a length of time in which a reasonable inspection would have disclosed same," reports Radar Online. The family also claimed that they accumulated a large amount of expenses from Obumseli’s medical care to his funeral arrangements.

'The Estate is seeking wrongful death damages'

Commenting on the lawsuit, Clenney's lawyer, Frank Prieto, told TMZ, "[Clenney] will defend this civil matter as vigorously as the pending criminal case. It is important to note that the Plaintiff (Estate of Obumseli) filed suit against the security company, building management company, and the owner's of the apartment that Courtney rented. The Estate is seeking wrongful death damages in hopes of getting a huge payout because these companies have very high limits on their insurance policies. Courtney has no assets that the Estate can collect on." And further added, "[Clenney] was a victim of domestic violence and her actions the evening of April 3, 2022 were taken to save her life. Once she is vindicated in the criminal matter, the civil case will also fall apart."

Murder of Christian Obumseli

Clenney, who has two million followers on Instagram, allegedly stabbed Obumseil in the chest on April 3, 2022, following a fight at their apartment building in Miami’s Ritzy Edgewater neighborhood. Following the incident, cops received a call from Clenney at 5.pm and when the police arrived, they found the boyfriend stabbed once in his shoulder. Clenney's attorney has said that she was forced to stab Obumseli after he grabbed her by the throat. He maintained that the two were estranged at the time of the incident and that Obumseli stalked her for several weeks before attacking her. It has also been reported by her friends that she was the abuser in her relationship with her late boyfriend. However, her legal team has claimed that she is a "victim of domestic violence," but Obumseli's family and friends have denied this claim. Prieto earlier told Rolling Stone, "She tried to administer first aid as best she could; she called 911. She got covered in his blood trying to save his life."

Clenney was captured on a surveillance video hitting Obumseli in the elevator of their Miami apartment building, reports FOX News. Miami-Dade State Attorney Kathie Fernandez Rundle played the video during a press conference when she declared a second-degree murder charge against Clenney. In the video, Clenney can be seen attacking Obumseli repeatedly with her fists while Obumseli remained defensive as he pushed her back and hit her several times in response. They continued to fight until the elevator door opened, and Obumseli left the elevator. Clenney attempted to hit him again as she followed him out of the elevator. The video was also posted on Twitter by journalist Rosh Lowe.
