Cops investigating the cause of death

The 18-month-old was taken to the Royal Preston Hospital before being transferred to Alder Hey Children’s Hospital. She died there on Tuesday, March 21. "We are continuing with our investigation to determine the cause and the circumstances surrounding this girl’s sad death," a spokesperson told Daily Mail, adding, "Our thoughts are with the girl’s loved ones at this time."

Three-year-old found dead

MEAWW previously reported that a three-year-old was found dead in a hot car, shocking their family members as they broke down at the scene. The car was outside a grocery store in Glenfield, southwest of Sydney, close to Campbelltown on February 2 this year.

New South Wales Police confirmed the child's death after learning that authorities had to break a window to get to the toddler. The officers were told that the child had been in the car all day, although it is unclear just how long they were inside. "Officers from Campbelltown City Police Area Command were told the child had been in the vehicle throughout the day," a police spox said, per the Daily Mail.

The car's owner arrived before 3 pm and immediately called the police. According to investigators, he was believed to be acquainted with the child and was supposedly the father. After breaking in a window, paramedics found the child unresponsive, and they were pronounced dead at the scene. People were seen sitting on the ground next to the car sobbing profusely. A man looked inconsolable as he covered his eyes and cried.
