GREENWICH, CONNECTICUT: A Connecticut socialite was sentenced Tuesday, Nov 29, to a year in prison for secretly photographing a minor and others at her opulent seaside estate. Hadley Palmer, 54, pleaded guilty to the charges in January, although the details of her case were strangely withheld from the public. She will now serve 10 years on the sex offender registry and 20 years on probation.
The wealthy socialite remained silent at her sentencing hearing in Stamford Superior Court, other than to respond "yes" or "no" to inquiries, but her attorney praised the justice of the penalty. Defense attorney Michael Meehan stated, "She’s taken responsibility for her actions,” of Palmer, who already did 90 days behind bars. This is a very caring, loving, and sincere human being." The humiliated socialite was spotted kissing and canoodling with an unnamed man outside the courthouse. She sobbed and wiped her tears as she entered the courthouse before being led out in handcuffs. The unnamed man had a hoodie pulled over his face as he left the courtroom. Inquiries from reporters outside the courthouse went unanswered, the New York Post reports. Palmer, a mega-rich mother of four, admitted to filming people while they were undressed or naked between 2017 and 2018 with the "intent to arouse or satisfy the sexual desire of such person [Palmer] or any other person"
Although she pleaded guilty on Jan. 19 to three counts of voyeurism and endangering a juvenile, more information about the charges against Palmer is still unknown. The Connecticut-born socialite was arrested in October 2021 and shortly after was placed in an accelerated rehabilitation program that provides case closure. According to AP, she should have been excluded from the program because the charges against her were so serious. The two most serious charges she was accused of - contributing to an obscene performance by a minor and possession of child pornography - were dismissed as part of a plea agreement. Palmer, who is divorcing venture capitalist Bradley Palmer, is the daughter of Jerrold Fine, founder of the hedge fund industry.
