Revealing the big surprise, Team Coco posted on Instagram: "Thrilled to have one of the biggest movie stars in the world join me at #ConanCon. The actor entered Hall H to a thundering roar from the audience as he took the stage and shared the first trailer of the much-anticipated 'Top Gun' sequel, 'Top Gun: Maverick' earlier in the day. Sharing the action-packed trailer on Facebook, Team Coco wrote: "Tonight's surprise guest is Tom Cruise! Check out the just-dropped trailer for Top Gun: Maverick and tune in to TBS Network tonight @ 11/10c for Conan’s interview with Tom Cruise."

The 2.13-minute clip begins with a voiceover that sums up Maverick's life since the first movie: "30 plus years of service. Combat medals. Citations. The only man to shoot down three enemy planes in the last 40 years. Yet you can't get a promotion, won't retire, and despite your best efforts you refuse to die." With a sequence featuring Cruise racing an aircraft on his motorbike, the video takes viewers back down memory lane bringing back the feels of the original 'Top Gun'.

Cruise, who is notoriously famous for not aging one bit, looks amazingly similar to how to he looked in the first movie, almost making it seem like the movie picks up from where it left.

The film will see Cruise play the role of Pete Mitchell, a flight instructor,  mentoring the son of his late co-pilot Goose (Anthony Edwards) who tragically died in a training exercise in the first installment. The film, which also stars Jennifer Connelly, Jon Hamm, Ed Harris, and a returning Val Kilmer as his fabled 'Top Gun' character Iceman, is slated to hit theaters in 2020.
